Partly I used an image map to replace the sky with the timelapse of a darker version of the sky. The Sound was taken with the Olympus LS-5.

Fader Filter V2 77mm filter with Canon 5d mk2 + 16-35mm 2.8L mk1
The fader filter introduces the artifacts when in use with the 16-35 mk1. Though the fader filter can be used to some degree, it is most effective at 35mm on this lens. For those of you who have wondered whether the fader filter is a good buy, there are two things you need to know. Fader filters are produced in China even though there have been some claims that a reputable company produces them in florida, they are merely branded and distributed there. This test is a basic walkthrough of the filter with direct footage with the 5d mark 2 and 24L combo. I will be uploading other videos with the holy trinity of zooms: 16-35mk1, 24-70, and 70-200 mk1. For the most part, the fader filter is most effective at 35mm, blocking out all of the light. At 24mm, the filter can not effectively block out the light and artifacts are evident.

Without the arm and vest, the best shot was probably the walking in front shot. I believe that overall the Glidecam worked the best for all situations....Still need to get my steadicam game up too tho. Thanks for watching

Practicing Slider And Jib Shots With Canon 5d mk II and 16 35mm II Lens
www.weekendcreations.com This is my first time shooting practice with slider and jib and the result was extremely satisfying. I have a shoot coming up and I am getting ready for it. I strongly recommend indisystems slider and indigo jib to all independent filmmakers. These are really essential to get that professional level output. I used Canon 5d mark ii and 16 - 35mm L 2 wide angle lens to film this. To handle both indigo jib and slider, I used Manfrotto 501 tripod. It is little heavy but works fantastic with this setup. If you are practicing the jib for the first time, I suggest you to be very careful when mounting the camera to the jib. You definitely need one assistant with the jib.

Should you use zoom lenses for DSLR filming? -DSLR Film NOOB
www.dslrfilmnoob.com I don't recommend using zoom lenses for filming unless the zoom covers a focal length that is hard to find or not available. Two such focal lengths are covered by the Tokina 11-16mm f2.8 and the canon 16-35mm f2.8. I've already done a review on the tokina 11-16mm, but i thought it might be nice to compare the Canon 16-35mm f2.8 and the Tamron 17-50mm f2.8. The Tamron 17-50mm f2.8 is a budget zoom that you can pick up for around $450. http The Canon 16-35mm f2.8 is a ruffly twice that price: rcm.amazon.com The benefits of using a nicer Zoom can be seen in the full time manual focus, the longer travel of the focus ring, the stationary barrel, and the smooth operation of the zoom. These are all very nice to have but $500 in your pocket might help you forget about many of these short comings. Other zooms in my collection include the Tamron 28-75mm f2.8: rcm.amazon.com And the canon 24-70mm f2.8: rcm.amazon.com Although i don't generally use these last 2 lenses for filming, they are great for photography. If you must use a Zoom lens for filming make sure it is a constant F-stop across all focal lengths or your lens will automatically stop down as you zoom causing unwanted color changes and dimming of your video image. Changes made include, Camera placement (side by side this time instead of top and bottom), Focal length of lenses set to different settings in order to make the camera's appear the same equivalent focal length, shots are now pinned down not rotating, and of course I've removed the music(because some people complained). Lens on both cameras Canon 16-35mm f2.8 L 7d set at 16mm 5d mark II set at 26mm Default image mode with auto white balance. The Canon 7d was on the Right side of the rig and the 5d mark II is on the left. Which camera do you like better?
