If you buy a M42 lens mount adapter on eBay, you've then got access to the thousands of much cheaper (and older) M42 Lenses. M42 Glass is manual focus, and you have tomove the aperture ring by hand too, but if you put your Canon dSLR into Aperture Priority Mode, it will meter the scene and set your shutter-speed accordingly. By adding extension tubes we can take macro or close up photographs, and the equivalent EF lenses are incredibly expensive, but we can get similair shots at a fraction of the price. So buy an M42 lens mount adapter, then trawl the flea-markets, charity shops and car-boot sales for M42 glass and extension tubes. Thanks for watching, Rob.

We are extremely excited to introduce the new RH-1™ series lens for Canon DSLRs, compatible with the new 5D Mark iii, 5D Mark ii, 7D and others. The RH-1 provides an ultra wide field of view, with no distortion, that's nearly double that of other ultra wide lenses currently on the market. The RH-1 f/2.4 is housed in a break resistant polymer composite. There will be a lot more details about the lens, the US release date and pricing at this year's NAB show in Las Vegas. Although an official price has not been confirmed, we are happy to announce that we'll be retailing the RH-1 lens for a price less than $600. Depending on how well the initial launch goes, we're looking forward to releasing compatible RH-1 mounts for Nikon and Panasonic. Additional details to come!

www.dslrfilmnoob.com I often get questions from people asking why their footage looks grainy, or why the motion in their video appears "jumpy" and "jagged." Many of these problems can be corrected by using the proper settings on your camera while filming. Grain in your video footage is often caused by using high ISO settings on your camera. Even though these HDSLR cameras can preform well in low light they still have there weaknesses. The canon 7d, t2i and 60d all share the same sensor and there for preform similarly in low light settings. I don't recommend shooting above ISO 1600. At ISO 1600 grain starts to show up noticeable but could still be removed using programs like Neat Video, and Magic Bullet Denoiser software programs (note: that both of these soften your footage slightly). At ISO 1000 and under video grain begins to fall off and becomes much less noticeable. So if you can try to keep your camera between ISO 100 and 1600 you should be problem free. Motion flicker can be caused by your exposure time. 1/30th, 1/60th, and 1/125th seem to work fine, but if you go above that, motion in your video will begin to seem choppy. If you have to much light in your scene and need to correct for it, the best option is to use either ND filters or a variable ND filter. I recommend buying a larger size filter if you can and using reducer rings to cover your smaller lenses (reducers are much cheaper then ND filters). One other Item to keep in mind is that your camera should be in <b>...</b>

So let me start off by eliminating two things you can take off the list. Those are aperture and ISO. Aperture, I really can't tell you what to set it on because it depends on the type of look you are going after.With a shallow depth of field or not. And the other one is ISO. ISO is kind of there for exposure how how you are going to set the exposure. I will say you do not want go too far north of let's say 1600 especially on like the Canon T2i then it gets really noisy. Obviously you are going to need to use aperture along with the ISO to get the right exposure but at least it gets you in the ball park. Those two ingredients are taken off the list. So the first I can tell you about what is on the list is shutter speed. Basically if you are going for a "filmic" look you are pretty much going to double your frame rate, so if you are shooting 24 frames per second you are going to want a 1/50th of a second shutter speed and if you are shooting at 60 frames per second you are going to go with 125th frames per second shutter speed. Now I will tell you it's just kind of a guideline and a rule but I have shot at much higher shutter speeds and it has worked wonderful, especially if you are shooting something like myself which is just <b>...</b>

After using my Canon 550D/Rebel t2i for shooting different project the past months, I decided that I wanted to make an actionfilm to test it even more. I bought a new lens for my camera: Canon EF 24-70mm f/2.8L USM, and a field sound recorder: Zoom ZOH4NK H4n and a boompole so I could record much better sound, and get closer to the object with the shotgun microphone. We filmed everything during one day with a Canon 7D and Canon EOS 550D on homemade shoulder-rigs, and used only natural light (the sun and the existing lamps on location). I used Final Cut Pro to edit the film and Color to colorcorrect. I added blood bursts, muzzle flashes, gun-shells and so on in After effects.
