"Obligation of Carry" by Nutnfancy
Deciding to be an armed, licensed civilian is serious business. Mature, sound judgment and preparation in every facet of this decision must be exercised. And doing so is not cheap, its not convenient, it requires a perishable skill set, and its complicated by many legalities. Also expect you, the armed civilian, to be completely misrepresented by the media, lambasted and characterized as a fringe, paranoid, and borderline un-safe person. Hogwash. But that flak you'll get does not change the realities of you choosing to be legally armed. Nutnfancy says YOU do incur an "Obligation of Carry" if you decide to walk society as a CCW (Concealed Carry Weapon) or CCP (Pistol) individual. You absolutely must have your gun on you to the maximum extent possible...no joke. Yes there are places where being armed is illegal and inappropriate but there are lot of places where it is not. In fact most places, at least in the US. In this video Nutnfancy addresses the biggest folly of most guys and gals who have gone to the effort of licensing and buying their pistol for legal carry: they just do not carry it. Why is that? Chances are they have chosen a bad system (Nutnfancy term) of carry. Perhaps a bulky or heavy gun that requires special dress and carriage that rapidly becomes so taxing that its soon left at home. The carriage of a gun for self-protection or the protection of others is a serious decision. There are many psychological, legal, civil, and logistical ramifications of your decision. This video encourages their consideration. If a responsible civilian makes this decision there a certain "rules of the road" that should be followed in order to best prevent the use of lethal force and represent the CCW/CCP community responsibly. There are good voices in the pro-self-defence community that talk to many these issues and I have been adding my voice to these in many videos. Here's another, foundational in nature. Contained herein are mine, based on my over 18 years as a Concealed Carry Permit holder (civilian capacity) in every state I've lived in during that time. Pete is no stranger to filming police and this is the second video of his used by Cop Block. The first was confronting Arlington police officers about parking their cruiser illegally, which Cop Block is still waiting to hear the outcome of that investigation. Petes decisions to go to his girlfriends aid, film the police, open carry a firearm, refuse to produce ID and to walk away from the police,without satisfying their request, were all perfectly legal acts. Though you dont ever have to talk to the police, Pete has a background in Law Enforcement along with a great knowledge of open carry laws. Therefore, while he still talked to the police and provided them with information, above and beyond whats legally required, he did so with caution. Pete does this because the police are legally allowed to lie to you, which they did several times in this video, but Pete counters that by asking questions to the officers which would force them to back up their lies.
