Five masked men dressed in black appear on the video, sitting behind a long table. The spokesman explains that they are a group called the "Mata Zetas," or Zeta Killers. They describe themselves as an "extermination" force that works as the armed front "of the people and for the people." The video comes days after the gruesome discovery of 35 bound, semi-nude, tortured bodies on a freeway in the Gulf state of Veracruz. The 'Zeta Killers' spokesman in the video claims responsibility, saying that all of those who died, including 12 women and two minors, were linked to the Zetas cartel. The bodies were dumped on the freeway in the midst of the city's rush hour. "We are the armed wing of the people, and for the people. We are anonymous warriors, with faces, but proudly Mexican." Regional police say the arrest may lead to a complete clean-up of drug cartels in the Mexican resort city. Mexican police have arrested an alleged leader of the independent (drug) cartel of Acapulco (CIDA) linked with the disappearance and murder of 20 people from Michoacan in September last year. Authorities made the announcement on Tuesday. Police said Moises Montero Alvarez -- also known as "The Korean" and one of the main leaders for the CIDA cartel in Acapulco -- was captured in Acapulco on Monday. He was arrested together with a 21-year-old and two minors inside a shop. The Mexican government says nearly 23000 people have died in drug-related violence since a military crackdown on cartels began in 2006. That announcement comes as officials face a new front in their war against the drug gangs. Two of Mexico's most powerful cartels have joined forces to battle government security forces as well as a third cartel seeking its own slice of the cross-border drug trade.
