Hitchens on the Catholic Church

One of the great rants by Christopher Hitchens was when he participated in a debate in England put on by the Intelligence Squared organization in October 2009. The subject being debated was: The Catholic Church is a force for good in the world. His opponents were a Catholic bishop from Africa (Archbishop John Onaiyekan) and Catholic MP Ann Widdecombe. Supporting him was Stephen Fry. In fact, this rant has been called his best ever on the subject of the Catholic Church. A version of this video has already been posted on You-Tube, but this video focuses on just this rant by Hitchens.

CATHOLIC CHURCH - The Vatican Secret Archives

CATHOLIC CHURCH -- The Vatican Secret Archives The Vatican Secret Archives (Latin: Archivum Secretum Vaticanum), located in Vatican City, are the central repository for all of the acts promulgated by the Holy See. They house the Church's and humanity's collective memory since the birth of Our Lord Jesus Christ to the present. The Pope, having primal incumbency until death, owns the archives until the next appointed Papal successor. The archives also contain the state papers, correspondence, papal account books, and many other important historical documents accumulated by the Church over the centuries. In the 17th century, under the orders of Pope Paul V, the Secret Archives were separated from the Vatican Library, where scholars had some very limited access to them, and remained absolutely closed to outsiders until 1881, when Pope Leo XIII opened them to researchers, of whom now more than a thousand examine its documents each year. The Vatican Secret Archives have been estimated to contain 52 miles (84 km) of shelving, and there are 35000 volumes in the selective catalogue alone. "Indexes must be consulted in the Index Room and replaced in their original location. Publication of the indexes, in part or as a whole, is forbidden." The Archives support their own photographic and conservation studios. The Archives' oldest surviving document dates back to the end of the eighth century. "Transfers and political upheavals nearly caused the total loss of all the archival material ...

The Easter Vigil of the Roman Catholic Church, Homily

Gospel Reading: Mark 16:1-7 When the sabbath was over, Mary Magdalene, Mary, the mother of James, and Salome bought spices so that they might go and anoint him. Very early when the sun had risen, on the first day of the week, they came to the tomb. They were saying to one another, "Who will roll back the stone for us from the entrance to the tomb?" When they looked up, they saw that the stone had been rolled back; it was very large. On entering the tomb they saw a young man sitting on the right side, clothed in a white robe, and they were utterly amazed. He said to them, "Do not be amazed! You seek Jesus of Nazareth, the crucified. He has been raised; he is not here. Behold the place where they laid him. But go and tell his disciples and Peter, 'He is going before you to Galilee; there you will see him, as he told you.'"

Obama vs. the Catholic Church

www.nma.tv President Obama has upset Catholics. He wants Catholic groups to pay for contraception and abortions as part of employee healthcare. Catholic and other religious leaders see this as an attack on First Amendment freedoms. Obama in 2009 had promised Catholics a "conscience clause." What is Obama thinking? Obama won the Catholic vote in 2008, and Catholics are a huge force in swing states in 2012. Does Obama thinks his pro-choice allies will overpower the Catholic Church, or has he made a massive political miscalculation?

Spain's Stolen Children: Catholic Church Caught Child Trafficking 300000 Kids to Sell in Adoption

It is no surprise that the Catholic Church has once again been caught in yet another child trafficking scheme - this time in Spain. The Protect Your Children Foundation is keeping track and exposing the organized crime of the Catholic Church so far in order to alert and warn the nations. The Catholic Church has murdered over 50000 native children in Canada at Residential schools administered by nuns, 500000 children stolen by nuns in Catholic Mother-Baby homes in Australia, another 500000 in Canada. Not to mention more than 30000 women tortured and abused in Ireland's Magdalene Laundries and more than 30000 children abused in the Catholic residential schools of Ireland - to name a few. No longer can the nations deny that these are isolated cases. It is obvious that the organization known as the Catholic Church is the worst criminal organizaiton in existence, utilizing the Lord's name to gain trust and commit crimes against humanity. The Protect Your Children Foundation in collaboration with VaticanCrimes.us will not stop exposing their evil until the very last door of the corrupt Catholic Church is closed as they have been responsible for torturing and abusing entire nations - conducting evil baby trafficking schemes for profit. Catholic Church Against Hitler and Nazism

Anti-Jesuitism played an important part in the Kulturkampf, culminating in the Jesuit Law of 1872, endorsed by Otto von Bismarck which required Jesuits to dissolve their houses in Germany, forbade members from exercising most of their religious functions, and allowed the authorities to deny residency to individual members of the order. Some of the law's provision were removed in 1904, but it was only repealed in 1917. In the 1930's, JESUIT CONSPIRACY THEORIES WERE MADE USE BY THE NAZI REGIME with the goal of reducing the influence of the Jesuits, who ran secondary schools and engaged in youth work. A propoganda pamphlet,, "The Jesuit: The Obscurantist without a Homeland" by Hubert Hermanns, warned against the Jesuits "dark power" and "mysterious intention". Declared "public vermin" [Volksschadlinge] by the Nazis, Jesuits were persecuted and murdered. During the 2nd World War, Henry De Lubac SJ, one of the most influential theologians of the 20th century, joined a movement of "spiritual resistance", assisting in the publication of an underground journal of Nazi resistance called Temoinage Chretien, or Christian Witness. It was intended to show the incompatibility of Christian belief with the philosophy and activities of the Nazi regime. In General Ludendorfs book "Das Geheimnis Der Jesuitenmacht Und Ihr Ende" he proclaimed that the Jesuits are controlled by the Jews. Hypnotism: What does the Catholic Church teach about it?

www.catholic.com Catholic Answers speaker Sharon Lee Giganti explains what the Catholic Church teaches about hypnotism. Sharon Lee Giganti, a former Miss San Diego County and runner-up to Miss California, left Hollywood at the height of her success (guest-starring in over 20 top television shows and co-starring in several films) to pursue a "Higher Purpose". Believing that she had found the true way to serve God through a channeled spirit named, Abraham and the New Age "bible" known as, A Course in Miracles, she had intended to teach "a new and more enlightened way to be loving" with these popular Law of Attraction and New Thought philosophies. But by 1999, disillusioned with the devastation these teachings so often produced, she realized they were deceptive and lacked the real presence of Jesus Christ. Thankfully, Sharon's diligent search for Truth began to lead her home; to authentic Christianity, and when tragedy struck her family in the year 2000-- she walked away from the world of "New Thought" for good. During a time of incredible loss, (the murder of her infant nephew and subsequent life sentencing of her brother, the suicide of one of her New Thought students, and the mental collapse of another; resulting in her being committed to a psychiatric ward) Sharon says she saw clearly, as if for the first time, the very real consequences of sin and the true teachings of the Bible playing out right before her eyes amid the tragic events surrounding her. Intelligence Squared Debate - The Catholic Church Is A Force For Good In The World

Unlike other branches of Christianity, flexibility has never been a feature of the Roman Catholic Church. The Vatican believes that the Pope is God's representative on earth, and that what he has to say - whether it's about morality, the role of women, condoms, or alleviating African poverty - must be obeyed. What this means, in theory at least, is that Catholicism's billion adherents have a structured framework for leading productive, charitable, and dignified lives. But, with the modern world listening less and less to what were once its figures of authority, Catholicism has come under attack. The Church stands accused of collaborating with the Nazis during World War II, discriminating against homosexuals, protecting its paedophile priests and stubbornly refusing to concede that we need to promote contraception to curb the spread of Aids.

USA Catholic Church suing the Obama administration

Roman Catholic organizations in eight states filed sued the Obama administration over a federal mandate that they must provide free birth control to their employees. Such an edict violates Catholic doctrine and the First Amendment to the United States Constitution. Did the Catholic Church in the USA forget their former and current embrace of Democratic Party politicians who are ardent abortion supporters? A brief review: President Barack Obama while Illinois state legislature voted three times to make infanticide legal. That is when a child survives an abortion alive; it makes it legal to murder that child outside the womb. So what did the Catholic Church do? When Mr. Obama became President Obama the Catholic university Notre Dame (located in Indiana) invited him to speak at their commencement exercise. Democrat member of the House of Representatives from San Francisco, California Nancy Pelosi is another fervent supporter of abortion. Mrs. Pelosi attended a Catholic high school and Catholic university, and abandoned her Catholic teachings. The Catholic bishops of the United States held a conference in Washington, DC and invited Mrs. Pelosi to address the group. Mrs. Pelosi a staunch supporter of abortions received applause from these princes of the American Catholic Church, the bishops. The lawsuits filed were a result of an edict from the United States Department of Health and Human Services. The secretary of that department is Democrat named Kathleen Sebelius. Mrs ...
