He constructed the 478 mile road, through mountain junbles, across swamps, spanning 400 streams or rivers and solving every conceivable kind of engineering problem. "The first convoy, made up of 100 trucks, loaded with supplies for China, sets out, with Gen. Pike fittingly at its heads. "At Myitkyina junction is made with the Burma Road. World Bank to China: Reform Now or Face Deep Economic Crisis

China could face an economic crisis unless it implements deep reforms, according to a report by the World Bank and an influential Chinese government think-tank, which urges Beijing to scale back its vast state-owned enterprises and make them operate more like commercial firms. Coming from a group so close to the government, it suggests China's other new leaders may be happy to question political sacred cows.

China's Regime Demands US Return Documents

For more news and videos visit ☛ english.ntdtv.com Follow us on Twitter ☛ http Add us on Facebook ☛ on.fb.me The former vice mayor of Chongqing, Wang Lijun, currently at the center of a Chinese Communist Party power struggle, allegedly handed sensitive documents to the US consulate in Chengdu on February 6th. Now the Chinese regime is demanding these documents back. If the US does hold these documents, it may play a role in determining the future of the regime, as it prepares to undergo a shuffle of power. The recently demoted former vice-mayor and police chief of Chongqing City, Wang Lijun, entered the US consulate in Chengdu on February 6th. It's thought that Wang tried to apply for asylum and handed over internal Chinese Communist Party documents. These documents may have revealed the crimes of his boss Bo Xilai in their so-called "Beat the Black" anti-crime campaign, or even organ harvesting in connection with the persecution of Falun Gong, in which Bo was involved. Journalist Bill Gertz has written several articles about Wang Lijun's case for the Washington Free Beacon. According to a US official whom Gertz interviewed, the Chinese regime is now demanding the US to return the documents. Gertz says the incident clearly shows evidence of a power struggle within the CCP. [Bill Gertz, Journalist, Washington Free Beacon]:(Male, English) "It's definitely an indicator that there's a type of a power struggle on the way, I don't think we have a really clear picture of that ...
