Protesters reportedly threw fireworks and bottles at officers forcing law enforcement to carry out extensive arrests in the hundreds. Violent clashes between Chicago police and anti-NATO protesters (RAW VIDEO)

Video courtesy LeakSource2012 www.youtube.com At least 12 people were injured and 60 arrested on Sunday in Chicago after protesters clashed with police when thousands of activists took part in anti-NATO demonstrations. The riots began when the protesters tried to force their way through a police line to the site of the meeting. Protesters allegedly threw plastic bottles and paint balloons at the police, who fought back against them with batons and riot gear. Police estimated the crowd on Sunday to be 2500 to 3000, though it appears that many more turned out onto the streets of the city to voice their opposition to NATO's costly and deadly wars. Iraq and Afghanistan veterans also took part in the protests, throwing their medals towards the convention center where the delegates were meeting. They said the medals they were given do not represent the wars they were fighting.

German clashes: May Day rallies turn violent in Berlin

Left wing protesters clashed with police in Berlin as a traditional May Day demonstration came to a halt far before reaching its intended end in the city center. Some demonstrators threw stones, bottles and firecrackers at the riot police, and officers responded with charges and batons. Arrests were made. The thousands strong demonstration had set off late on Tuesday afternoon from Berlin's neighborhood of Kreuzberg. Meanwhile in Hamburg, over one-thousand leftist activists gathered for the annual May Day protest march, local media reported. The demonstration - themed "No Alternative to Revolution" - saw protesters marching from St. Pauli to Ottensen. Right at the start, protesters threw fireworks at police officers, but the crowd remained mostly calm for the ensuing march. However, after a speech marking the end of the demonstration, violence erupted. Stones and bottles were thrown at the policemen escorting the march. Police responded employing pepper spray and arresting several protesters. Injuries were reported on both sides. Later on, riots broke out in Hamburg's Schanzenviertel neighborhood, a notorious site for May Day violence in past years. RT on Twitter twitter.com RT on Facebook www.facebook.com

Greek Battlefield: Video of Athens clashes with police

Greek anger over new austerity measures and layoffs erupted into violence outside parliament on Wednesday, as demonstrators hurled chunks of marble and gasoline bombs and riot police responded with tear gas and stun grenades that echoed across Athens' main square. Police said at least 14 officers were hospitalised with injuries, and at least three journalists covering the demonstrations sustained minor injuries. The violence spread across the city centre, as at least 100-thousand people marched through the Greek capital on the first day of a two-day general strike that unions described as the largest protest in years. Most of the protesters marched peacefully, but crowds outside of parliament clashed with police who tried to disperse them with repeated rounds of tear gas. Hundreds of rioting youths smashed and looted stores in central Athens on Wednesday after the mass anti-government rally against the new painful austerity measures. Police and rioters held running battles through the narrow streets of central Athens, as thick black smoke from burning rubbish and bus-stops set ablaze filled the city's skyline and obscured its ancient monuments. A gasoline bomb set fire to a presidential guard sentry post at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier outside Parliament, while running clashes broke out in several side streets near the legislature and the capital's main Syntagma Square. THUMBS UP to Support for Human Rights in China ! Click here for more Videos: www.youtube.com April 11, 2012 Protests and Clashes Are Seen in Chongqing Thousands of Chinese protesters clashed with police and uniformed security forces wielding batons in an area of Chongqing on Wednesday, according to news reports and images posted by activists. News Link: thelede.blogs.nytimes.com The clashes in Chongqing, a fast-growing urban center, broke out after crowds gathered to protest economic issues in the Wansheng district of the sprawling municipality, just south of the main city of Chongqing and the epicenter of a widening political scandal that has shaken China. There were no indications of a connection between the protests, which began on Tuesday, and the announcement shortly after by central government authorities in Beijing that the former party secretary of Chongqing, Bo Xilai, had been stripped of his post in the Politburo and his wife arrested as the prime suspect in the killing of a British businessman. An official denied any connection between the Chongqing protest and the political scandal at the upper levels of the Chinese government, telling The Associated Press that angry crowds had gathered in Wansheng to protest a recent municipal merger with a neighboring county this year that had exacerbated the economic woes of many residents. RIOTS IN ROME: Demonstrators rampage through Rome, clash with police

www.tvreporter.it riprese di Simone Trentini (Reuters) - Hundreds of hooded, masked protesters rampaged through Rome in some of the worst violence in the Italian capital for years Saturday, torching cars and breaking windows during a larger peaceful protest against elites blamed for economic downturn. Police repeatedly fired tear gas and water cannon in attempts to disperse them but the clashes with a minority of violent demonstrators stretched into the evening, hours after tens of thousands of people in Rome joined a global "day of rage" against bankers and politicians. Smoke rose over many parts of the neighborhood between the Colosseum and St John's Basilica, forcing many residents and peaceful demonstrators to run into buildings and churches for shelter as militant protesters ran wild. After police managed to push the well-organized radicals away from the St John's area, they ravaged a major thoroughfare, the Via Merulana -- building barricades with garbage cans and setting the netting of the scaffolding of a building on fire. Discontent is smouldering in Italy over high unemployment, political paralysis and 60 billion euros ($83 billion) of austerity measures that have raised taxes and the cost of health care. The violence at times resembled urban guerrilla warfare as protesters hurled rocks, bottles and fireworks at police, who responded by repeatedly charging the demonstrators. Tens of people were injured, one of them critically, among the police and demonstrators ...

NATO Protesters Clash with Rahm Emanuel's Storm Troopers

As of Sunday, a mere 45 protesters were arrested. "No details on the arrests were immediately available, but it appeared from the clashes that played out in front of television cameras that many of those arrested were taken into custody after refusing a police order to disperse," the AP reports. Chicago and the federal government squandered millions of tax payer dollars on a not-so secret "command center" to keep a watchful electronic eye on Americans exercising the First Amendment. The proudly advertised purpose of the high-tech fusion center was to protect "foreign ministers" who arrived to plot future NATO conquests and war crimes. Of course, these bureaucrats were never really in danger. Chicago mayor Rahm Emanuel's government worked with the Secret Service to turn downtown Chicago into a ghost town and deny workers and small businesses income. Eight foot tall "security fencing" created a declared "security perimeter" around downtown, Grant Park, and McCormick Place where the NATO war council convened. Emanuel squandered over a million bucks on "riot equipment" for riots that have not so far taken place. Instead of rounding up violent anarchists and the like, the Chicago police have shut down miles of highway and streets so cars and pedestrians are prevented from accessing the city and thus inconveniencing ministers of war and globalist chaos at McCormick. So absurd was the propaganda, we were told plans were on hand to evacuate the entire city, something that has not ...
