In the meantime, here's the 30" Titanic model from our other videos, this time shot from different angles and including sound - listen for the whistling of air escaping during the final plunge. The model is by Academy-Minicraft, with custom modifications including "iceberg damage" and special interior compartmentalization and sealing. Considering it's been 2 years since the last sinking of this model, we think it's held up pretty well. Approximate time for this sinking was three minutes. I have slowed the video by 25% from the 1:10 mark onward. Thanks for your continued interest!

This may seem out of place in my Ship Simulator 2008 playlist, but I wanted to make a video honoring my favorite ship in the game. The firts part of this video contains genuine footage of the real Titanic videotaped in 1912. The second part was recorded during the NOAA expedition to the Titanic in 2004. The song is "Hymn To The Sea" from the Titanic movie soundtrack.

The iceberg ripped open the first 5 compartments and the Titanic sank in the early hours of April 15th, taking the lives of 1523 men, women and children. ONLY 705 survived that night. Here's how that ship met its doom.

He recorded her coordinates as, stern section sits on ocean floor at 41o43'35" N, 49o56'54" W, boilers at 41o43'32" N, 49o56'49" W, bow at 41o43'57" N, 49o56'49" W. Find these coordinates and trace the outline of the sunken pieces of the Titanic on a chart of the North Atlantic. 2. How far is it from its plotted course? At the time of the accident, the ship was reported to be at 41o46' N, 50o 14' W. (She was found 13½ miles southeast of the position given in her lastdistress call.) 3. Discuss the fact that satellite technology through GPS can pinpoint any position on Earth to within 30 feet. In 1912, navigation techniques of dead reckoning and celestial navigation could only give one an approximate location within several miles of one's true position.If the Titanic had had better navigational aids, could its passengers have all been saved? Could it even have avoided the iceberg? 4. Track the route she took from England to New York in April, 1912. She started from Southampton, England, and stopped at Cherbourg, France and Queenstown, Ireland to pick up passengers. Her destination was New York. She sank 1000 miles due east of Boston, Massachusetts, and 375 miles southeast of St. John's, Newfoundland.
