Family, friends, and neighbours were invited to lend a hand for fish habitat, and to help plant native shrubs to help improve fish habitat along Colborne Creek on Saturday, August 13th 2011. The Colborne Creek project, located in Cramahe Township, will improve fish habitat by stabilizing stream banks, providing cover features for trout and planting native shrubs along the creek. The project is located alongside the new Suzanne Kernaghan Memorial Trail pedestrian bridge. The Community Stream Steward Program (CSSP), hosted by the Ontario Federation of Anglers and Hunters (OFAH), worked with the Rotary Club of Colborne, Township of Cramahe, Lower Trent Conservation Authority, Northumberland Stewardship Council, Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources' Community Fisheries and Wildlife Involvement Program, Cramahe Horticultural Society, and Sir Sandford Fleming College to complete the project and host the event. www.ofah.org
