This video actually started in 2007 when I was at Naval Hospital Pensacola, FL. Unfortunately, more names have been added since then. I continued to collect these photos throughout the years through weblogs, search engines, government news outlets, honor and social media websites. I did my best to make sure that these Corpsmen were honored with the utmost respect and that they never be forgotten. - This video was played during the 2011 Hospital Corpsman Ball in San Antonio, Texas. Navy Corpsmen conduct MEDIC COURSE with Afghan soldiers
3/9/2012 Afghan National Army soldiers with 2nd Kandak, 1st Brigade, 215th Corps, perform medical procedures under the guidance of US Navy Corpsmen with the 3rd Battalion, 3rd Marine Regiment Battalion Aid Station during the final evaluation of an eight-week medic course here, March 9-10. Among the variety of medic courses conducted in Helmand province in the past, this course led by corpsmen with American Battalion was the first for ANA soldiers in Garmsir district. The curriculum for the course was designed to be "hands-on" in response to low literacy and proficiency rates among ANA medics.

this is training that i went through on January 08. But this is a update of me now, im still a Corpsman still working with the marines in Camp Lejeune. I deployed on a MEU and it was supposed to be a "easy" "hittin up all the ports", BUT i spent a month on ship then went to africa, kuwait, jordan then 4 months in afghan, received my combat action ribbon and took care of My Marine with a dislocated shoulder. President Obama was speaking at the National Prayer Breakfast and was telling about a Navy Corpsman who assisted the suffering people of Haiti. But as his head bobbed back and forth between his two teleprompters, he read the word "Corpsman" and pronounced it "Corpse Man" twice.

Hospital Corpsman Playing Piano at Naval Hospital Camp Pendleton Chapel
While I was on hold for FMTB, working at Naval Hospital Camp Pendleton, I used to go to the chapel every time I went to get some chow. I would play the piano they had there for about 15-30 minutes and make some stuff up. One of those times, I had one of my best friends come and record me while I played around. WW II- USS Comfort AH-6 David Burns Tech 5 (Medical Corpsman)
My 92 year old father David C Burns was being interviewed for the Veterans History Project (see www.loc.gov ) He served as a medic on a US Army Hospital Ship the USS Comfort (AH-6) in the Asia-Pacific conflict during WWII. I was asked to put together some pictures by the interviewer. As I gathered my father's pictures and his autobiography I realized I had enough material to put together this clip. Note: The USS Comfort took a direct hit right above the Red Cross from a Japanese kamikaze plane. I have included a Universal Newsreels WWII clip about the hit.
