The Face in the Courthouse Window
The legend of "The Face in the Courthouse Window" has been a staple for many Alabamaians growing up. Now, with the help of a couple Alabama grads, the legend was brought to the stage. Barry Bradford spent a couple days in Carrollton combing through newspapers to research the legend of Henry Wells. Now it is all a part of his play that portrays his story to best Bradford could. The play is all a part of a partnership with the Pickens County Courthouse Preservation Foundation and the First National Bank of Central Alabama to help the Preservation Foundation raise the funds needed for an elevator. "The courtroom that they were using upstairs," said Betty Pate with the Foundation, "If you saw the stairs, they are difficult for anybody for handicapped." The goal of the Foundation is to bring the history of the Courthouse to the public's knowledge so that it can be perserved and brought back to it's former glory. Cape May Court House Structure Fire
COURT HOUSE -- Area firefighters responded to a structure fire here at 805 Route 9 South, adjacent to the Seventh Day Adventist Church, at about 5:10 pm Sunday, Feb. 22. Court House and Swainton Stations were initially dispatched to the scene. When units arrived on scene they reported the structure to be fully involved. Rio Grande and Green Creek were then requested to respond to the scene. Middle Ambulance Corps were on standby at the scene while firefighters worked to douse the flames. Fire Departments from the Villas, Erma, and Stone Harbor were called to cover the fire stations of the departments that were dispatched to the scene. Stone Harbor Rescue Squad was called to cover the Middle Ambulance Corps building.

Countless theories about how and why the courthouse of Narvik was selected as the headquarters of the Hanso Foundation were found on different fan sites on the internet when the episode was new in 2005. But when asked, they obviously don't have a clue what they're doing, the series is much less sophisticated than the fans think. US General Services Administration Historic Building Film Series At the Forefront of Adventure and Architecture: Pioneer Courthouse, Portland, OR At the Forefront of Adventure and Architecture: Pioneer Courthouse documents the National Historic Landmark's recent renovation -- including installation of a state-of-the-art base-isolation seismic protection system -- and presents the long history of this exceptional federal building. The 1875 Pioneer Courthouse in Portland, Oregon, is one of the more than 200 legacy properties under GSA's stewardship. The film was created as part of GSA's mitigation for the renovation project, as agreed upon through consultation under the National Historic Preservation Act. The film is also part of GSA's efforts to support the Preserve America initiative encouraging Americans to explore and enjoy our nation's heritage. Universal Studios (The New Courthouse Square)
The Grand Re-opening of Courthouse Square marks a milestone in the largest set construction project in Hollywood history. After the June 2008 fire, the set officially opened to the public on June 18th, 2009. I was lucky to be on the first official tour on re-opening day. The buildings surrounding the courthouse were completely burnt down, but the courthouse itself had only minor damage. The courthouse that stands is still the original structure used in hundreds of movies such as "Back to the Future," "To Kill a Mocking Bird," and "Bruce Almighty." As of the the re-opening date, it was being used for the TV Show, "Ghost Whisperer." The surrounding backlot sets, such as New York Street, Brownstone Street, and some new Paris and London sets were set to open in Spring 2010.

TI's Road To Redemption : Courthouse Steps ( 40 Days til' Lockdown)
TI will plead guilty to a litany of gun charges today after reaching a plea agreement, sources close to the rapper's defense team and the prosecution tell the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. The rapper is expected to be sentenced to 1500 hours of community service followed by about 12 months in prison. Following his arrest on October 13th, TI was indicted on weapons charges for owning three machine guns and two silencers (which violated the terms of his probation). Since then, the rapper has been held under $3 million bond and house arrest. UPDATE: TI entered his plea earlier today and made a statement outside the courthouse: "While I'm not looking forward to being incarcerated, I have a long road of redemption to travel. I am dedicated and committed to that." TI was sentenced to at least 1000 hours of community service, a year and one day in prison and fined $100000. Because the prison sentence exceeds one year, the rapper will be eligible to get fifteen percent of his term reduced for good behavior.
