An innovative new glass entrance system, the CRL Wedge-Lock™ Door Rail System features the exclusive CRL Wedge-Lock™ Securing System (US Patents 6434905 and 6912818 B2. Canadian Patent 2419706.), a totally new concept for securing the glass in the door rail. It works by applying pressure from the bottom of the door rail, using two glass retaining aluminum extrusions via a flat stainless steel bar. As this bar is pulled down with socket head cap bolts, pressure is applied to the glass retaining aluminum extrusions. The bottom of the extrusions are at an angle and fit into an angled groove in the door rail. As the glass retaining extrusions are being pulled down, the angled wedge in the door rail also pulls the glass retaining extrusions together. Today was the best day of foaming in my life! Next to that time in Ottawa, haha Matt, anyway... So with all the excitement in the air, after seeing the Iowa, EJ&E, and IHB, we were thinking what could come through next? Sure enough, we hear an enormous noise coming from Burr Oaks yard, and it could only be one thing, the CRL! I never knew that they worked on Sunday's, unless this is just a pure fluke thing. The crew came from gathering grain hoppers for the IHB in Burr Oaks, and our first sight of them was crossing the IHB and CSX mains on the bridge. Between the time it took the CRL to get onto the junction, an IHB local trotted through the diomand. The Rail Link then set out onto the IAIS / Metra main to Robbins, where they would wye down the CSX / Evans Yard connection track. The crew dropped the 20 some grain hoppers on a siding parallel to the IHB in Riverdale. The engines returned light, but didn't go back to Burr Oaks (Sorry, my bad, didn't know...) They went to Mokena to pick up the cars sitting in the lumber siding, and from there bring that train to Burr Oaks. All in all, SWEET! Here's a compilation video of Iowa Interstate and Chicago Rail Link from Blue Island Junction on the 26th. As you can probably figure out, I had to make a seperate video since I couldn't fit it into one. CRL made a somewhat rare appearance here today and it was awesome. 8:54AM- IAIS GP38-2 #721 and ES44AC #504 bring a BISW job down the IHB/CN connector line. 9:13AM- The BISW reverses down the IHB to set out the cars at Riverdale Yard. 10:24AM- The afternoon hasn't even rolled around yet and the morning BISW job has finished it's duties. The power returns light back up the IHB, further on to the connecter that brought them here. 10:37AM- With the GEVO in lead, the power advances down the weed-ridden connector line back to Metra Trackage. 12:03PM- An unexpected horn sounds to the East on the Rock Island, and soon enough, a Rail Link hopper extra chugs across the bridge. Omnitrax (OSSX) GP7L #4438 and Ex. Conrail LLPX GP15-1 #1503 are in charge. 12:14PM- As we hoped,the Rail Link job backs down the connector line into the junction. The Central Soya cars will be dropped off on the other side of the river somewhere. 12:29PM- It wasn't long before the cars were dropped off and the units returned light. 1:43PM- We did a little trespassing to catch the units on another job. The one that actually heads out as far as Mokena to work the lumber yard there. Over an hour after going out there, they come back sandwiching empty cars. My basic CRL air chain consisting of an Symetrix 422, CRL SEC 800 and SMP 850. The 800 and 850 have been partially re-chipped and calibrated. The caps have not been replaced to my knowledge! I have modified the 850 for a more broadband response and cleaner sound. The output goes straight into a 75uS de-emp circuit for playback. I am satisfied with the results of this test. My goal was to achieve an open, yet semi loud sound with lower distortion. Some lower end overpowering is observed during the start of the audio. Some light pumping is evident with more aggressively mastered tracks. This is meant for others to hear what CRL processing sounds like. More videos to come. Will try to upload in HD for better audio

I was pretty surprised to hear this train called out over the scanner today. Leased units CKRY GP7u #903 and LLPX GP15-1 #1503 are in charge of switching out Hines Lumber at 187th Street. They shuttle in empties from Blue Island and take away the loads. This local came from the East, but switched over further down the line and now throttles up. Here it is about a mile away from hines.
