Hey Internet-- Here is some (older) touchpad progress from Friday. The Cyanogenmod team wanted to share it with the public to bring attention to our need for a few more touchpads (for developers currently working without them). As you can see from this quick demo, we've been working hard and have made progress. Since this video was created last week, the build has been more "tabletized" (tablet tweaks added, etc.), lvm support has been added. The touchscreen driver issue is now the focus of our attention. Our ultimate vision is to create a *multiboot* solution where the end user will be able to boot into WebOS, Cyanogenmod, and/or other OSes. This appears to be very possible, and we have discussed several potential implementations with our new friends in the WebOS development community to make it easy for an end-user to set up. For the moment though, we need about 4 tablets, as we have talented and experienced developers who cannot contribute effectively due to a lack of hardware. If you have an extra touchpad and are willing to help the cause, please let us know in the comments below. A BIG CAVEAT-- PLEASE DO NOT ASK FOR ETAS. For the uninitiated, this is the #1 rule for Cyanogenmod. It will certainly be a long while before our goals become reality. This video will show you how to update CyanogenMod 7 on your (CM7 supported) device. Links: CyanogenMod 7: www.cyanogenmod.com Dropbox: www.dropbox.com If you learn better by reading instructions, I've posted a tutorial on Android Central's forums. http Notes: 1) You don't need to download the Google Apps pack or be concerned about losing any of your apps. They will not be affected. 2) We'll be using Dropbox to transfer the updated ROM from our computer to the device. (You don't necessarily have to use Dropbox. You can use a USB cable to transfer the ROM to the SD card or you could just download the ROM directly from the browser. This is just how I do it.) 3) Do not select Wipe Data and Cache, as this basically acts as a factory reset. You will lose all your data if you select this. You'll also have to reinstall the Google Apps pack. 4) If you're unhappy with the new version of CyanogenMod 7, you can always roll back to whatever you were running before. That's why I had you backup the device before the update. To restore your device to the way it was before we did anything, press and hold the power button -) Reboot -) Recovery. Your device will now boot into CWR. Once it boots, scroll down to Backup and Restore -) Restore and then select the backup on the bottom of the list. Once it's done, select reboot system now. Now your device will reboot with the older version of CM7. It'll be like nothing ever happened.

UPDATE 10/3/11 Flashing the ROM at the end may not work if you have already flashed the updated ROM from T-Mobile. There have been a couple reports of problems, though it has been few. This is why it is important to make a nandroid backup!!! ---------- This video shows how to back up your stock T-Mobile G2x using NVflash, and then install CyanogenMod 7 Nightly (Gingerbread 2.3.4). This version uses the CM7 nightly build 15 from 5/11/11. It is important to NOT boot ClockworkMod Recovery from ROM Manager for your backup (fakeflash). Use NVflash (real NAND flash) and boot into the recovery that way like I show. Dual purpose video. Recorded using X10a on 2.1 while testing stock camera mod v9 by 28spawn. Showcasing Xperia X10 with Cyanogenmod 7.0 v010a ROM by Jerpelea. Camera mod has added a chipmunk effect to the camera application but frame rates and images appear to be better. Waiting for the fix. Cyanogenmod 7.0 is awesome in my opinion. There are issues with it such as random WLOD (white light of death doesen't kill your phone but reboots it). Culprits appear to be facebook and stock browser. Youtube intermittently works. Wifi, GPS, Radio, Flash 10 are working. Battery life does appear to be improved in my opinion. Update: After a few days, phone will go into WLOD mode causing it to continuously reboot. Reflashing is the only way to stop it. On v012a now will update info when I get the chance. NEWS: Bootloader has been greatly bypassed! I believe Bin4ry was first to do it but It has been confirmed that Jerpelea has been able to load a custom kernel on to the X10. This means that certain limitations such as FPS, native tethering, overclocking and many others will soon be available. Great job Developers!!! I can't imagine an awesome rom like this on a HTC EVO. iF I had an Evo, I would install Cyanogenmod in a heartbeat with that 1ghz processor! It would just be unreal! If you have issues with the command not recognizing the file, drag the novacom.exe file into the folder HP webOS where you installed the ACMEInstaller Before you start, you will need a few files which you should download first first: SDK/PDK for Windows/Mac/Linux: tinyurl.com ACMEInstaller, CyanogenMod 7.1 and ClockworkMod Recovery, and Moboot: tinyurl.com Step 1: Install HP webOS SDK/PDK for your operating system after downloading it from the first link. Extract the contents of ACMEInstaller.zip and the uImage.ClockworkMod from the update-cwm_tenderloin-1012.zip to the folder where you have installed HP webOS SDK/PDK. Should be something like C:\Program Files\HP webOS Step 2: Connect your HP TouchPad to your computer through the USB cable.
