Dakha Brakha Sho z-pod duba

Daha Braha performing song "Sho z-pod duba" during concert in Lublin ( Poland ) during "Jarmark Jagielloński" festival. Daha Braha ( Daxa Braxa, Dakha Brakha ) is ukraininan band playing "ethno-chaos" music. For detailed information on the band itself please, visit their home page: www.dakhabrakha.com.ua You can listen and download music there! also visit: www.myspace.com and listen to their music. Buy their CD, support them! I've heard Daha Braha for the first time a few months ago during live performance in Warsaw. And they shocked me. I don't usually listen to such music but what I heard and seen there struck me down! They are absolutely fantastic performers doing incredible show that really shocks... i'm not only talking about their music but also the way they give us their music - with so much emotions and feelings. Just look at them - they are REALLY having a lot of fun doing the poerformance, look at Nina ( right-most singer playing cello ) when she smiles - you can really see her enjoy what she does! and this applies to all of them! their music so primal, so deep so charismatic... those three girls and a guy are masters!

Modern ethnic music needs a sort of reconstruction and in a way it means to search roots, to move back in time. But if one belongs to the urban culture and has no initial experience of the traditional life, how can he find these roots? DakhaBrakha with Steve Cooney & Friends

In a rare and exclusive improvisational performance in the collaborative hothouse of the Festival Club, Steve Cooney and DakhaBrakha explore the worlds of Irish, Ukrainian and Australian soundscapes. At the crossroads of Ukrainian folklore and theatre DakhaBrakhas musical spectrum is intimate yet riotous, plumbing the depths of contemporary roots and rhythms, inspiring cultural and artistic liberation; a radical montage of overtones and melodies. Accompanied by Indian, Russian and Australian traditional instrumentation, the quartets astonishingly powerful and uncompromising vocal range creates a trans-national sound rooted in Ukrainian culture. Born in Australia, Steve Cooney is one of Irelands most celebrated traditional musicians; he is a multi-instrumentalist (guitar, bass, digeridoo, percussion), writer, producer and performer. Exuding a sense of musical bohemia his approach is always refreshing, earning him a reputation as dynamic artist and a much sought after collaborator. His excellent technique, musical sensitivity and understanding of accompaniment is attested to by the number of traditional groups and albums he has contributed to.
