Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng who is also the Secretary-General of DAP had two press conferences after the debate with MCA President Datuk Seri Dr Chua Soi Lek. Unseen on the live telecast, the hall was a bit chaotic after the debate was over. Crowds rushed towards the two debaters as they were leaving the hall. Datuk Seri Dr Chua accompanied CM Lim into a VIP room for a press conference but due to the chaos, the hotel guards had to bar everyone from entering as supporters were trying to gain access. After a while, when the crowd calmed down, reporters were allowed into the press conference room in a single queue. A reporter asked CM Lim to comment on the reaction of the delegates but CM Lim merely smiled and said he doesn't want to comment. CM held another press conference later to thank DAP supporters who had come from all parts of Malaysia including East Malaysia. As agreed between CM Lim and DS Dr Chua, another debate in either Bahasa Malaysia or English will be held in a month's time at a venue to be decided later.

Johor DAP recorded an unprecedented show of support from the people in Johor Bahru during its fund raising dinner which was held here, recently. CJMY was made to understand that the huge turnout of some 3200 supporters and well wishers came not only for the dining but specifically to listen to DAP's state and national leaders who were scheduled to speak at the dinner that evening including Penang chief minister, Lim Guan Eng. DAP's state leaders who spoke on that evening include Tan Hong Pin, the state organizing secretary, followed by Andrew Chen, DAPSY committee member whereas the national leader speakers were Liew Chin Tong, member of parliament for Bukit Bendera, Dr. Hew Kuan Yau, the 'superman', Tony Pua, member of parliament for Petaling Jaya Utara and Penang chief minister, Lim Guan Eng. MP Liew Chin Tong told the crowd that Pakatan needs to win at least a third of the total parliamentary seats in the state of Johor, Sabah and Sarawak to see a change in the federal government. He urged Johoreans to catch up with the wind of change and to create history by voting at least a third of the Johor Pakatan candidates to parliament in the forthcoming 13GE. Amendments to the Printing Presses and Publications Act 1984 (PPPA) are mere cosmetic changes, charged the DAP, since media practitioners can still be punished for publishing 'false news'. Parti Sosialis Malaysia (PSM) is adamant that it will contest in the Jelapang state legislative assembly seat in Perak, despite the fact that the seat is considered a stronghold of ally DAP.
