I am in Austin, Tx. Our dogs eat raw meat. This video shows the preparation for each meal. After feeding raw for awhile, I got rid of the scale and notes and could just "eyeball" what my dogs needed. But I do recommend starting off with a scale until you get a grasp on what the weights look like. UPDATE: 1/2012 - I still feed raw meat to my dogs and spend about $100-$120 a month to feed two 70-pound Boxers and a 40-pound Basset/Corgi mix. I feed a base of chicken (leg quarters) almost every day, turkey necks and turkey hearts and add a new protein once a week. I like duck and rabbit when I can find them in my supermarket. I also use beef and pork neck bones as treats. I shop around a lot for the best prices, but I do belong to a local Yahoo group (www.arfcoop.org) that is open to new members in the Austin area. This is a "raw feeding" group, meaning a group of people who feed their animals raw or home-prepared foods. The group buys in bulk from several suppliers and get discounted prices on meat. This is all "human grade" and some organic meats. Another great way to save money is to shop the local meat markets for the "throw away" parts - such as chicken frames, necks, hearts, turkey necks, pork trimmings, leg bones, etc. Dogs and cats can eat all of these parts and they are usually less than $1 per pound. UPDATE TO RECIPE, PLEASE READ: Since i made this video, i made a few minor changes basically adding more a little more meat content, the cooking method is still the same, and with doing 24oz portions, i am getting 18 days worth of food per batch. Here is the updated version- 3lb's chopped meat, 2lb's ground turkey, 5lb's gizzards and hearts diced, 2lb's frozen pea's and carrot's, 1lb diced beef liver 4 1/2lb's brown rice, 1-15oz can diced beets w/juice. Brief directions; Brown chopped meat and ground turkey, then drain fat, next in a 12qt stock pot, combine all ingredients and enough water to make like a very thick soup, then cook on low heat about 1 1/2 to 2 hours stirring occasionally. You will want it to reduce to the consistency in the video. I portion it in qt size baggies and put 24oz per baggy; thats the recommended amount per day for a 75lb active dog. With this batch, i got 18 days worth, and the cost was roughly $20-$25.

Here's the story. A few months ago I was live streaming and everybody asked me to switch games. I put up a facebook poll and had them decide between Black Ops, BF3, Portal, and (as a joke) bacon. Well bacon won by a landslide and so I started thinking about what I was going to do. I mean, I'm putting on a show here and I didn't want to disappoint. Ingredients 2 1/2 cups whole wheat flour 1/2 cup pumpkin (NOT Pie Pumpkin) 1/2 cup peanut butter (Cream or Crunchy, your choice) 2 teaspoons cinnamon 1 teaspoon baking powder 1/2 cup water as needed Directions: Preheat your Oven to 350. Mix together all ingredients except the water. Mix well until the dough is firm and not to sticky. If it's to dry, ad a splash of water as needed, and if it's to sticky, add a touch more flour. On a lightly floured surface Roll out your dough and cut it into shapes! You can do your cookies between 1/4 inch to 1/2 inch thick. It just depends on how long you want to cook them. Pop them in the oven for 20 - 30 minutes. They will get slightly brown and when you go to pick them up they will be nice and firm. Now place them on a rack to cool.
