Woman arrested for DWI, beat by police off camera
A police officer has been fired after an incident in which a female prisoner, who was taken into custody on suspicion of DWI, wound up lying on the police station floor in a pool of blood. Much of what happened was recorded on a videotape, but there is a gap of undetermined length. During that time, the woman was believed to have been injured. Man, Thought To Be Dead, Arrested For DWI
LINDALE, Texas — The 911 call into Smith County Sheriff's Office on the morning of September 16, 2011, was to report a dead man in the roadway on a county road north of Lindale, but as law enforcement sped to the location, the so-called deceased got up and ran away. Smith County deputies, deputy constables, Lindale police and Texas Department of Public Safety troopers converged on County Road 4122, where a female caller reported the man, covered in blood, was in the middle of the road and not breathing. Moments later, the dispatcher said the woman called back and said the man jumped up, sprinted down a long driveway and waved goodbye to her as he thanked her for stopping to help. Law enforcement searched the location but could not find the man for several moments. But a short time later, two troopers radioed that they had the man at the scene where he wrecked a car. The troopers added the man drove back to the location in another vehicle. After being administered a field sobriety test by DPS trooper Robert Johnson, the man, identified as 47-year-old Donald Camp, was arrested, handcuffed and transported to the Smith County Jail. DPS troopers said they did not know if they would charge the man with one or two counts of driving while intoxicated. Be careful to use the full external rotation of your hip joints to enter the posture while strengthening the back and neck to support the legs. It's important to use the feet to gain stability in the posture and at first if you have a hard time locking the feet it might be better to just lock the feet instead of point. The most traditional way is what is demonstrated, with the feet pointed but if you try that too soon you'll slide right out of the posture. Also remember that once the first leg goes behind the head the neck cannot slide forward or else you'll release your feet! This posture was hard for me in the beginning and I remember getting a pain right in the center of the chest that made me want to collapse under the weight and tightness of my hips, but over time with good technique and lots of practice it's possible! DWI Checkpoint - officer doesn't respect rights In its totality, this is a minor experience, most of which wasn't recorded by me and happened away from my vehicle. Nationwide and systematic, this is a terrible trend that is happening and is slowly prying our rights and self worth away from all of us Americans as individuals. I came up on a very large DWI checkpoint and I was tired from a long day. I was carrying a legal side arm and didn't want to put it in my glovebox or have it in plain sight and give any reason to search my vehicle. I put it in a small cooler next to me, out of sight. I was ordered to exit my vehicle strictly because of exercising a lawful right to not answer questions. The officer is not going to let someone get away with not complying with his simple investigation so they then escalate it to the next step which is physical detainment and more investigation. The officer was fishing and I am a stubborn but proud person. When someone tries to exert control over me, I just don't automatically comply. I am as free of a man as that officer is and I consider myself his equal. I don't just go and piss on another's rose garden. I expect to be respected the same way by anyone else, no matter what the circumstances are. The conundrum here is that I happened to drink one beer maybe 6 hours earlier at a tavern. The rest of the evening I strictly had coffee and soda. I had a long drive ahead of me, know the risks associated with drinking and then driving and will <b>...</b>
