Efteling - Sprookjesbos HD (Fairytale Forest) FULL WALKTHROUGH
The Fairy Tale Forest (Sprookjesbos in Dutch) is a 15-acre (61000 m2) forest section of the amusement park Efteling in the Netherlands, where a number of well-known fairy tales and fairy tale figures are depicted by animated statues, scenes and buildings. Most of the figures are inspired by the Brothers Grimm, Hans Christian Andersen and Charles Perrault. Concept and building: The Fairy Tale Forest was founded on the work of RJTh. van der Heijden, Peter Reijnders and Anton Pieck. Van der Heijden conceived of the idea in the 1950s to boost tourism. He asked his brother-in-law Peter Reijnders, a filmmaker and amateur inventor from Eindhoven, to recreate a fairy tale theme park Reijnders built. Reijnders chose artist Anton Pieck, whose visual style had been inspired by Arthur Rackham and Edmund Dulac, to add the artistic elements. The first scenes: It took roughly two years to develop and build the first ten fairy tales: the Chinese Nightingale, the Talking Parrot (or "the Naughty Princess"), the Castle of Sleeping Beauty, the Gnome Village, "Number One" (referring to the toilets), the Frog King, the Magic Clock, Mother Hulda's Well, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs and Long-neck. The Fairy Tale Forest: The Fairy Tale Forest has 25 scenes. Some include specific events such as Little Red Riding Hood at the door of her grandmother's house; while others are more general, such as Dwarf Village. Efteling - Fata Morgana HD
Fata Morgana, the forbidden city, also known as 1001 Arabian Nights (or "1001 nachten" in Dutch) is a dark ride in amusement park Efteling in the Netherlands. It was designed by Ton van de Ven and Jan Verhoeven and opened in 1986. 16- passenger boats pass through a fairy-tale style Arabian city that is populated by 140 animatronics. Only one transport boat is present in a scene at the same time. The ride begins in a twilight setting, showing a jungle and the skyline of a distant Arabian city. Upon entering the city, in the poor quarter, beggars and merchants call for attention. The next scene shows a prison and torture room, followed by a palace and a harbor with ships . Passing by a harem the real ride ends in the throne room of the pasha. Total ride time is 8 minutes, capacity of 1800 persons/ hour. The attraction is considered to be the link between the old fairy- tale style of Anton Pieck and the newer, more intensive rides. The opening was planned for 1984, but in order to give more time for the designing team it was postponed to 1986. The original name Fata Medina was changed to Fata Morgana to avoid confusion with the Islamic holy city, though it is more likely that it was a reference to the first completed part of the ride, the Medina quarter- the poor district and central marketplace. Efteling - Spookslot HD (Haunted Castle)
The Haunted Castle (Dutch: Spookslot) is a haunted attraction in the amusement park Efteling in the Netherlands. It was designed by Ton van de Ven and was the first attraction built outside the Fairytale Forest. On July 24, 1976 the announcement[1] on the making of the world's biggest haunted castle appeared in Brabant's daily newspaper, Het Brabants Dagblad. The article mentions that the castle would be built between the Fairy Tale Forest and the rowing and canoeing pond. This was a strategic choice, because the location of the attraction would attract visitors to the normally 'forgotten' southern part of the park. The main reason for this mega-attraction was declining numbers of visitors at Efteling. Aiming for a more general public, with an attraction that didn't depend on the weather conditions, Efteling authorized their young designer Van de Ven to start designing the ride. Van de Ven designed the castle as a walk-through attraction [2] and, in the style of Anton Pieck, the castle was designed to look old and decayed. It is meant to look as though it was once beautiful and majestic, but is now haunted and in ruins and somewhat romantic. The construction took about 18 months and the castle was officially opened May 10, 1978. On May 12 a television special was broadcast with Kate Bush singing in and around the castle. Sprookjesboom vertelt in de Efteling
1 april 2010 was een bijzondere dag in de Efteling. Niet alleen ging het park open om nooit meer dicht te gaan, maar ook werd de nieuwe toevoeging in het Sprookjesbos onthuld. De Sprookjesboom, die voortaan iedere dag van het jaar zijn verhalen zal vertellen. Deze film is gemaakt op 2 april 2010, een dag na de opening van de Sprookjesboom. De boom staat tussen het Meisje met de Zwavelstokjes en de Vliegende Fakir. Wanneer een bezoeker hem roept zal hij zich voor stellen. Ook vraagt hij wat de naam en de leeftijd van het kind dat hem wakker heeft gemaakt. Daarna zal hij een kort verhaaltje vertellen over de Sprookjesbosbewoners. Dat doet hij samen met een konijn, een eekhoorn en een specht. Het verhaal wat hij in dit filmpje verteld gaat over de kabouters die in de winter een feest organiseren. Maar wanneer ze geen hout hebben om een vuur te maken, moeten ze de hulp van Draak inroepen. Maar wilt Draak ze wel helpen? Ik zou zeggen: Geniet van het filmpje! PS: Er staat een klein foutje in de film. Er staat namelijk "Sprookjesbewoners", maar het moet "Sprookjesbosbewoners" zijn. Sorry daarvoor.

It's not too far from Rotterdam in South Holland where we are currently based. It is an amazing theme park, sort of like a European Disney World. It has some amazing rides like the python wooden roller coaster, monsieur cannibal, mirador, fata morgana and the Efteling teacups. It is particularly well known for the spookjebos, or enchanted forest, that features characters from fairy tales like sleeping beauty and Hansel and Gretel as well as Dutch characters like langnek (long neck), and the efteling draak (dragon). It also has animatronic garbage cans that say "papier hier" to encourage kids to put their garbage away. The Efteling now features a hotel, golf course and even a theatre.

Ongeluk Python efteling Kaatsheuvel
Passagiers van achtbaan de Python in de Efteling zijn maandagavond aan de dood ontsnapt. De trein van de achtbaan van het themapark in Kaatsheuvel was op het hoogste punt vastgelopen maar rolde tijdens de evacuatie van de inzittenden plotseling verder. Een ooggetuige filmde het incident met een telefoon.

Efteling - Carnaval Festival HD
Carnival Festival is a dark ride in amusement park Efteling in the Netherlands. It was designed by Joop Geesink and opened its doors in 1984. The ride, 240 m length, is original, but clearly influenced by Disney's "it's a small world", and signified a breach with the fairy-tale style of the Efteling. The ride takes 2 adults or 3 children, in 1 of the 118 cars, through a humorous simplification of the world populated by animatronics in just over 6 minutes, accompanied by a catchy music written by Ruud Bos and stand-up comedian Toon Hermans. The ride's host is 'Jokie de Prrretneus', a carnival doll and the park's mascot from 1984 until 1989 when the new mascot 'Pardoes' was introduced. In 2005 the ride was redecorated with the famous Dutch doll "Loekie de Leeuw", which also was created by Joop Geesink. Joop Geesink's objective was to make it a hilarious ride, which is done by taking cultural aspects that have been generalized, and portraying them with funny dolls. For the first time the Efteling ordered for a special music to be made. Ruud Bos was contracted, and the base theme was developed by Toon Hermans. The main tune varies per scene: a mandolin, bagpipe, gong- it seems simplistic but the actual presentation is very catchy. The multiple-track sound system was 'borrowed' from, again, "it's a small world" but is nowadays, of course, digitalized.

Efteling - Het Volk van Laaf HD (The People of Laaf)
The People of Laaf is an attraction in the amusement park Efteling in the Netherlands. It was designed by Ton van de Ven and opened its doors in 1990. It is a small village, called "Lavelaer", inhabited by the so-called "Laafs" ("Laven" in Dutch). The visitors can walk through the village and enter the houses, among which a bakery, a brewery, a windmill and a nursery and watch the Laafs do their normal daily activities. A monorail of 450 meters in length runs through the village at an altitude of about 3 meters. In the early years you had to pedal the monorail. This was discontinued because of the possibility of "crashing" into each other. Furthermore, if you stop pedaling, the ride would be blocked for other visitors. For the children there are slides and fun mirrors. Little statues of Laaf people doing all kinds of activities are for sale in the souvenir shops in Efteling, but also in several garden centres.

Dreamflight (or "Droomvlucht" in Dutch) is a dark ride in Efteling amusement park in the Netherlands. It was designed by Ton van de Ven and opened in 1993. In Dreamflight, the visitors fly through a dream world of forests, castles, fairies, trolls and other fairy-tale-like creatures and scenes. The visitors are seated in small open cabins hanging from the ceiling. The ride takes them past five different scenes in about six minutes: the Castle Realm, the Wondrous Forest, the Fairy Garden, Heavenly Strongholds and the Squelch Forest. The speed and height of the individual cabins vary throughout the ride, with a climax in the troll marshes at the end, where the cabins come to a seeming free-fall in a spiral downwards from 13 meters of height. Efteling wanted to present Dreamflight in 1992, for the 40-year anniversary of the park, which coincided with the opening of Disneyland Paris. However, due to problems with the seating cabins it was not ready until 1993. Due to this problem, the ride cost €4.5 million more than was estimated, bringing the total costs up to €12.5 million, the most expensive attraction at Efteling to that day.

Efteling 'officially' opened on May 31, 1952,[2] when the Fairy Tale Forest (het Sprookjesbos), designed by the famous Dutch illustrator Anton Pieck, was declared open. Initially, the Fairy Tale Forest was home to some ten different fairy tales, all of them brought to life using original drawings by Anton Pieck alongside ingenious movements and lighting and sound effects designed by the Dutch film maker Peter Reijnders. The life-size fairy tales, displayed together in an atmospheric forest, proved to be an enormous success. In 1952 alone Efteling welcomed 240000 visitors. There is some debate about whether May 31, 1952, was the actual start of Efteling: some argue that 1950 should be considered the official year of the park's establishment, since in that year Stichting Natuurpark de Efteling, or Efteling Nature Park Foundation, was founded.

Efteling - De Indische Waterlelies HD (The Indian Water Lilies, with English subtitles)
The Indian Water lilies (or "de Indische Waterlelies" in Dutch) is an indoor automatic puppet show in Efteling amusement park in the Netherlands. It was designed by Anton Pieck and opened its doors in 1966. Although the Indian Water-lilies is indoors, it is not a real dark ride, that is; there is no transport system but visitors have to walk into the show area to view the tale. It was the first attraction in the Efteling that used advanced techniques to create an artificial, fairy-tale style environment. The consistency and style of the music, lighting, decorations and animatronics can be found in many other Efteling rides built later, like the Haunted Castle, Fata Morgana and Dreamflight. Peter Reijnders was responsible for the technical details and in the final phase of the construction the newly graduated industrial engineer Ton van de Ven participated in the project as manager of design and decoration. The theme is based on one of the twelve stories in the book "Los doce Cuentos maravillosos", written by Queen Fabiola of Belgium in 1955 (before her marriage with King Baudouin of Belgium). Peter Reijnders, for whom this would be his last contribution to the park before retiring, wanted to create this ride to commemorate the 15th anniversary of the Efteling and went to the Royal Castle of Laeken at Laken for an audience (1962) with the queen. Efteling - De Chinese nachtegaal HD (The Chinese nightingale, with English subtitles)
The Emperor of China learns that one of the most beautiful things in his empire is the song of the nightingale. When he orders a nightingale brought to him, a kitchen maid (the only one at court who knows of its whereabouts) leads the court to a nearby forest where the bird is found. The nightingale agrees to appear at court. The Emperor is so delighted with the bird's song that he keeps the nightingale in captivity. When the Emperor is given a bejeweled mechanical bird he loses interest in the real nightingale, who returns to the forest. The mechanical bird eventually breaks down due to overuse. The Emperor is taken deathly ill a few years later. The real nightingale learns of the Emperor's condition and returns to the palace. Death is so moved by the nightingale's song that he departs and the emperor recovers. The nightingale agrees to sing to the emperor of all the happenings in the empire, that he will be known as the wisest emperor ever to live.
