This video shows how our elimination communication experience is going with Carter at 5 months old. The video starts out right after I set him on the potty and put a little piece of toilet paper over his peepee. (For modesty & I don't want to get peed on. lol.) My husband is recording and we do show the poop- so if you don't want to see it make sure to stop watching when the screen with text comes up. :) You will probably notice I do say 'go poopoo' and 'good boy' a lot in the video. That is because I am trying to associate 'go poopoo' with actually doing it so when he's older he will be able to tell us if he needs to go verbally. I say 'good boy' because I want it to be a very positive experience and I don't want him to feel like he's doing anything wrong. He is not a 'bad boy' even if he poops in his diaper. It rarely happens now, but if it does I just change it and don't do anything particular. Again, I don't view it as forcing him to do anything. I just feel it is easier for all of us if he can learn to use the potty now and not have to make a hard transition later. Plus it saves on the mess! You can see he doesn't look upset or forced to do anything. If you are against EC I respect your opinion, just please don't judge us for doing what our family feels is best for our son. I do realize some babies are not as cooperative with EC and it's not for everyone. Thanks for watching & questions below!

Who says you can't train a baby? This video shows a humorous baby happily on the Baby Throne. Proven to save at least 2200 (USD 955) nappies for each child before the age of 2. No need to dread the traditional toilet potty training route and running around toddler with a bucket trying to save carpets for weeks or even months. Start with baby on the Baby Throne and let the nappies become redundant (at about 18 months). Don't train your baby to go in the nappy in the first place. Visit www.babythrone.com

This is about my efforts to help preserve Mother Earth by not adding to the landfills with disposable diapers, not spending money on new diapers, reusing resources that I already have, and learning how to communicate with my baby about his needs. Elimination Communication is my way of life to help my baby retain awareness about his elimination needs- which I was surprised to learn that babies are born with this awareness already. Plus it's fun and no more changing poopy diapers! We started when he was 8 weeks old and I have saved a ton of money (and time!) Check out: www.sleepisforwussymamas.com

The Baby Throne can be used as soon as baby can sit up unaided which is at about 4 months old. It is made from a soft supporting foam that gets softer as it gets warmer and holds baby in the correct squat position. It can be used up until baby is about 20kgs (about 4 yrs old) when the Baby Throne gets too tight but by then they are big enough and strong enough to sit on any thing. New invention, fully patented and proven to save over 2200 nappies for one baby (and this is conservative). It is the perfect tool for Elimination Communication, toilet (or potty training), baby whispering etc for your baby. Visit www.babythrone.com for more information.

Kaemon is now 3 weeks old. We started doing Elimination Communication with him when he was 6 days old. Now he is consistently pooing in the potty. We haven't caught all his pees yet but he is starting to really show us signs when he needs to go. We started holding him over a training potty, but a couple nights ago I decided just to hold him over the toilet. Skip the middle man!! For more info read Diaper Free by Ingrid Bauer

Babies are aware of their eliminations needs. And they can have bladder/bowel control from the moment they are born. We started EC with my daughter when she was 5 weeks old. At the moment this clip was taken she was 12 weeks, 3 days. Since 11 weeks 6 days baby started to immitate "blowing raspberries" to signal her need of eliminationation. It's not perfect, but she is doing the best she can. Now she is really consistent. Notice the tightening of abdominal muscles. She pees and have a BM after blowing raspberries. At this early age she can already communicate her need to use the bathroom! Currently, she will stop nursing and blow raspberries to tell me she needs to go. I take her to the bathroom and voila! Then we resume nursing. She is clean and happy, and I don't need to change any dirty diaper. If you don't know what "elimination communication" is, read more here: en.wikipedia.org www.diaperfreebaby.org

These are my BornReady drop flap pants in action on my 10 week old baby. As you can see, it's easy to open the nappy, wee the baby and put the nappy back on without putting the baby down. 1) I support her on one arm while I pull the nappy out from the elastic belt and hold it out of the way. 2) I switch her into a standard in-arms pottying position and hold her over the potty. 3) She does her wee. 4) I cuddle her and tuck the nappy back in place. All done. Video length: 37 seconds. Faster than a nappy change? I think so. Learn more: www.bornready.co.uk

We started holding Kaemon over the potty while making a cueing sound when he was 6 days old. now he knows to try pooping or peeing when ever we try holding him over the potty. We hold him over whenever we change his diaper. Usually right after feedings. So far we catch 3 out of 4 poops in a day. (well usually at night.) We even catch one or two pees! What a smart boy! To those non believers......it DOES actually work!
