Anybody who's played guitar for awhile knows that changing an old, worn set of strings to a new set makes your guitar sound like a new instrument. In this video I demonstrate the difference between an old set of strings (which had been on the guitar for about 5 to 6 months) and a new set. The strings used are Elixir Phosphor Bronze 11-52 (bit.ly You'll hear a fuller/louder tone from the new strings as well as more high end, more presence and longer sustain on the new set. I had the D'Addario .012-.053 Gauge EJ16 Phosphor Bronze strings and decided to see what the little GS-Mini sounded like with them and it's awesome as expected. I want to go back to the Elixir after this set but it's cool - it's like wearing flip-flops for the first time but I like it. My interpretation of "Play that funky music (white boy)" from Wild Cherry. It 's not 100% accurate, just the way I'm playin' it. The bass is a Warwick Corvette Standard Bubinga full passive, with Elixir strings, recorded directly into a crappy sound card. No EQ correction, just added a bit of compression. Hope you enjoy it!
