This is a recording of Bob Dylan's classic, "Knockin' On Heaven's Door" (1973). It was recorded for the movie that came out that same year titled, "Pat Garrett and Billy the Kid" starring the late great, James Coburn and Kris Kristofferson. This song has been covered by many great artists such as Guns n' Roses, Arthur Lewis, Eric Clapton, Warren Zevon and the Grateful Dead, just to name a few. Bob Dylan was born in 1941 in Minnesota as Robert Allen Zimmerman. Dylan's family is jewish ethnicity but of direct Ukrainian ancestry. Dylan is regarded as one of the most influential folk artists of the 20th century, and particularly the massive changes that were happening in the 1960s. Many music critics feel his music of the mid to late 60s would be his best works. Dylan has been entertaining audiences for over 50 years at the time of this entry (Nov. 2011).
