This is the alternate fan sequence I made for the DVD version of the Gremlins 2 "film break" scene. I made it alone, in a two months period, with (computer-enhanced) puppets I re-created for this project. WATCH THE MAKING OF ON YOUTUBE !!! ————————————————— MORE INFO: WHAT IS IT? In the middle of the movie Gremlins 2, there is a sequence where the film seems to break, and where the gremlins invade the projection booth. For the VHS edition in the early 90's, they reshot a special sequence where the VHS tape seemed to be torn apart and in which the gremlins invaded a John Wayne movie. The DVD just kept the original theatrical version. This is the alternate sequence I made, supposed to replace the theatrical one on the DVD. HOW IS IT MADE? The creatures effects are all made with puppets. I made a new mold out of a hard cast of one of the original sculptures from the production. I created a batch of new foam puppets especially for this project. Their performances are enhanced by computer effects, which makes them able to do nearly anything, from running to jumping or facial expressions. Allow me to clarify a few things : This video was originally made to send to Michael Bassett to try and get a creature role in the new Silent Hill film. The creature was created as a haunted theme park character last Halloween season and I am carrying it over into film. The full short film will be out later this year which will explain the creatures and their looks, etc. I felt I should show fans the video to garner support. As for story : the backstory and the explanation of the creatures will be understood when the film is completed. I can guarantee that it will be as dark, twisted, and disturbing as you expect from these scenes. I love Dragon Age so much, I wanted to join in on the fun of Felicia Day's live action webseries, to show my love for Bioware and the universe they created. So... I made my own Dragon Age fan film on just about zero dollars budget. This is an original story I wrote that would fit in with the themes of the Dragon Age world. To do something epic like Dragon Age justice without a lot of money is challenging, to say the least... But the whole cast & crew utilized all our resources really well and worked our butts off to try and make it happen. I expect to finish working on the short film and release it in a few months. Taking place after the events of Gears of War 2, the film follows Sigma Squad of the COG as they retreat to shelter within a stranded camp. This project would never have happened without the help and contributions from those who participated on our Kickstarter, as well as the rest of the fans within the Gears of War community and Epic Games themselves. Naruto Shippuden: Dreamers Fight Hey guys, This is the new fan tribute my team and I have chosen to do next. Masashi Kishimoto's Naruto Series (Manga & Anime) has heavily inspired many of us so we thought it would be cool to try and translate a fight to a live action format. The short is being shot on the Canon EOS 7D and the budget is around $1000-$1200 **I saved up a little more for this one :) The run time should be around 20 minutes. You could say it acts as a live action filler. The battle will be between The Leaf's Naruto Uzamaki & Rock Lee and is set to release sometime in November. In the end, this piece will be strictly for Naruto fans though. I didn't have much interest in adapting this and changing it around for audiences who aren't too familiar (But hopefully they'll still like it as well!! hah). This is the featurette about my Gremlins Fan project, that was aired on the first national Belgian public TV channel on 4th july, 2008 at 7PM. The project is an alternate fan sequence I made for the DVD version of the Gremlins 2 "film break" scene. I made it alone, in a two months period, with (computer-enhanced) puppets I re-created for this project. A DETAILED MAKING OF WILL BE ONLINE IN THE END OF AUGUST ! ! ! MORE INFO: WHAT IS IT? In the middle of the movie Gremlins 2, there is a sequence where the film seems to break, and where the gremlins invade the projection booth. For the VHS edition in the early 90's, they reshot a special sequence where the VHS tape seemed to be torn apart and in which the gremlins invaded a John Wayne movie. The DVD just kept the original theatrical version. This is the alternate sequence I made, supposed to replace the theatrical one on the DVD. HOW IS IT MADE? The creatures effects are all made with puppets. I made a new mold out of a hard cast of one of the original sculptures from the production. I created a batch of new foam puppets especially for this project. Their performances are enhanced by computer effects, which makes them able to do nearly anything, from running to jumping or facial expressions. The entire shooting takes place in a bluescreen studio, arranged in my basement, in order to superimpose the gremlins in the chosen movies. WHO AM I? In a short span of 2 weeks we created a Left 4 Dead fan film from start to finish for only a couple thousand dollars by connecting with artists, video game fans, film enthusiasts, and friends from all across the United States. The entire cast and crew donated their free time, props, costumes, film equipment, and talent for next to nothing but two freezing nights of filming over their weekend.
