A little break from Tales of Destiny. I played a little bit FFXII and I asked me "Why aren't you trying to kill the final boss battles as fast as possible?" So, I recorded this little Video. This shows the fights against Gabranth, Vayne, Yayne Novus and the Undying. Of course, it is nothing special (anybody can do this with good equipments) and I could be faster, because I forgot to change my options back to active mode. I even forgot to equip a dispel-gambit. And yes, I skipped all scenes beside the last one.

Here's my attack on the last superboss of the game, Omega MK XII - he's got stronger attacks than Yiazmat but far less HP - as you can see, I'm able to dispose of him in less than 8 minutes, compared to the couple of hours that it took for Yiazmat. Vaan lvl 92: Ragnarok, Magepower Shishak, Maximillian, Bubble Belt Balthier lvl 91: Ultima Blade, Magepower Shishak, Maximillian, Bubble Belt Ashe lvl 92: Masamune, Circlet, Maximillian, Genji Gloves Keep in mind that Omega absorbs any holy-based attack, so Excalibur can't be used yet again. No time/patience to get Tournesol, so Ragnarok it is. As you can see, Masamune + Genji Gloves is still the damage king with its constant combo hits - I've seen it go as high as 14 hits. Near the end I petrify Ashe twice - the first time was useless since I got berserked (remedy doesn't seem to work on Omega's berserk) - in order to summon Zodiark while in petrify status - this triggers Zodiark to do his limit break, which is supposed to do 50000 dmg but somehow only does 35000 on Omega...almost not worth the lengthy animation time. The item dropped is the Omega Badge - this item, when sold at the bazaar with the Lu Shang Badge (from fishing minigame) and Godslayer's Badge (from Montblanc after killing Yiazmat) unlocks the Wyrmhero Blade, a ridiculously powerful but painfully slow 2h sword. I'll upload a video of that sword in action later on.
This is a video that show you how to get Zodiac Spear in Henne Mines. You will need alot of patience, and if you dont see a chest you must "soft reset" I have got 3 Zodiac Spears from Henne Mines. The chance to get Zodiac Spear in Henne Mines is 1/1000. Note: I was lucky when I got the z-spear in this video. It "only" took me 11 hours. I got the 2nd z-spear from Henne Mines in 27 hours and the third in about 30 hours. To make 1000 attempts takes about 25 hours. YOU CAN STILL GET THIS SPEAR IF YOU HAVE OPENED THE FORBIDDEN CHESTS, AND YOU CAN GET THIS SPEAR EVEN IF YOU ALREADY GOT ONE IN NECROHOL, THE ONLY THING YOU NEED IS DIAMOND ARMLET AND 10 ESPERS. If the gate is not opened, you need 10 espers, and have finnished the Mindflayer hunt. Then go talk to the Geomancer in Jahara.

Balthier has an Oaken Pole and Basch has a Hand Axe for the upcoming Tiamat battle. I didn't bother getting the Ancient Sword for Ashe, which would have made the Tiamat battle faster, probably. Saved on the Leviathan in under 2 hours and it took 5 minutes to be done with the Leviathan. Judges: 59 seconds to a minute Judge Ghis: 57 seconds Speed Run info: FFXII beaten in 8 hrs 52 minutes and 36 seconds. Not exactly the best time for a speed run. Best time claimed was 6 hours/8 hours. In the Japanese report guide : ultimagarden.net the Japanese version of the game was beaten in 8 hours and 38 minutes without the Zodiac Spear and Dustia Leveling. I've tried following the guide after translating it correctly, but I could not keep up with the times. First step was to level by chaining Dustia within 26 to 28 minutes after starting the game. Within 30 minutes, I chained 66 Dustias, gained 22 levels, and earned 20000+ gil. I went through the game rather quickly, until Tiamat. Equipments used for the speed run were a Mage Masher for silencing Bomb King and Gabranth, and 3 Shielded Armors bought in Jahara before going to Tiamat. Three Ice Shields, a War Hammer as a starting weapon for Basch, and 2 Lohengrin swords for Vaan and the sweet Penelo were purchased in Mt Omiscace after Tiamat and the first round of Flan chaining. Since Vaan and Penelo used magic most of the time, 2 Lamia Tiaras were bought for them. Basch had a Head Band for added HP. I purchased 1 Icebrand and a <b>...</b>
Since the final fantasy XII International Zodiac Job System english patch came out yesterday, i decided to put final fantasy X on hold so i can do a full playthrough of this game :)! Level: 25 What a pain. Normally at high levels the easiest way to kill this guy is to silence him at the start and then around 60% berserk him. This way he can't cast his annoying set of spells. However at low levels he'll level you if you berserk him. Also it's more difficult when he doesn't cast spells since at least the way I fight him. At critical I suggest using gil toss to finish him off unlike me who just wacked at him for too long. This is one of those that I'd like to redo but I don't want to, ya know?
This is sorta my guide to beating Hell Wyrm. I know there are better and quicker ways, but this is more for the gambit challenged (like myself). It's actually a pretty simple set up. The first video here pretty much shows how to get to him and what set up I use. There's only about 3 minutes worth of fighting. In order to unlock the fight you had to have already visited Draklor Laboratory, and defeated the Vyraal Wyrm mark. After you defeat Vyraal Wyrm, go to Cerobi Steppe and go to Windmill #10. Talk to the Wyrm Philosopher and give him the Dragon Scale from the Vyraal Wyrm and he'll give you the Ageworn Key. Now you go to Sochen Cave Palace and travel up to Destiny's March and enter the Ancient door from the east side. The rest can be viewed in the video, here it is in text. You travel in a clockwise pattern through every door marked "Door of Hours". If done right you will unlock the Ascetic Door. Go to the west side of Destiny's March, go through the Ascetic Door down the Hall of the Ascetic to the Hall of the Wroth God. Prepare for the battle and then use the Ageworn Key on the door and kick his ass. Hell Wyrm Stats: Level 60 HP 8930711 Weak vs. Holy Absorbs Dark 1/2 all other Elements So Excalibur is a great weapon to have.
