Final Cut Pro X - First Look

Be the first to see the new features of Final Cut Pro X which was just announced by Apple at the NAB Supermeet. More information at www.finalcutking.com Apple has finally announced the next generation of its professional video editing software, Final Cut Pro X, which can take advantage of powerful new hardware and hefty amounts of memory thanks to 64-bit support. Now that Final Cut Pro is officially a 64-bit application, it will be able to utilize more than 4 gigabytes of memory. That's something that will be particularly useful to video editors dealing with lengthy films and large high-definition files. It's also a feature that consumers have been demanding even before the release of the last version of the software, Final Cut Pro 7, in 2009. Adobe Premiere, a direct competitor to Final Cut Pro, has been offering 64-bit support for over a year. Final Cut Pro X will also be able to handle 4K HD clips — a video standard which is just beginning to make its way to movie theaters, and which offers significantly more resolution than 1080p HD videos — on Macs with 8 CPU cores. Other new features include a revamped interface that resembles iMovie, instant background rendering, auto image stabilization, people detection and more. You can catch a glimpse at what the software offers below from its announcement at the NAB conference. Final Cut Pro X will be available on the Mac App Store in June for $299 — a price that puts it well below Adobe Premiere and other professional video ...

Hitler finds out what's in the new Final Cut Pro X release. Thanks for your comments everyone! While this video is meant to be funny, the issue it's dealing with is no laughing matter. Apple's release of Final Cut Pro X has left the professional editing community in a state of shock and panic. The tools that our livelihoods depend on have been rendered unusable. And Apple has given no indication of future plans to support professional needs. Final Cut Pro X Advanced Tutorial - Creating a Muzzle Flash [Part 1]

FCPX Advanced Training Series Part 1. In this HD Voice Tutorial for Apple Final Cut Pro 10, we learn how to create a muzzle flash inside of FCPX using only the built in tools (Effects / Generators). We use a shape generator and apply some cool crops and secondary color / colour corrections to create realistic simulated blowback as well as as ambient light reflections with masks as means to isolate and specify areas that will react to the gun muzzle flash. We also make great use of compound clips as a way of getting better results when using the effects on our custom elements. Whats great is that you don't have to send a clip to a third party compositing application like Adobe After Effects, you can do it all right in FCP TEN without leaving the program. And then when your done with the effect you can turn it into a compound clip so use it as a single piece of media in the timeline: Which is still editable and accessible without breaking apart the clip item! All here, in this really great FREE Tutorial - Hosted by Dan Allen

Timeline Basics - Final Cut Pro X

Mix your music! Learn GarageBand in 30 Days! mhlo.co The Timeline window is located at the bottom of the Final Cut Pro X edit window. Click on the button that says Create New Project in the Timeline window to add clips. In the dialog box that appears, name your new project and press OK. This will create a Timeline. In order to add a clip to the Timeline, you must choose which part of the clip you want to add. Use your mouse in the top window to figure out where you would like to set the In point. Press I on your keyboard when you have your mouse cursor set to your desired In point. Press I again when you have your mouse set to the clip's Out point. Click and drag the trimmed clip into the Timeline window when you're ready. Final Cut Pro X is set up to allow you to view the audio waveforms of the clip in the Timeline. If you move your mouse pointer over the waveforms, you'll see a line that you can move up and down to adjust the clip's volume. You can also press and hold Option/Alt and click on this line to create points from which you can adjust the volume of the clip. With these points, you can make certain parts of the clip louder while other parts are quieter. You also have the ability to separate the audio track from the video. To do so, right click on the clip in the Timeline and choose Detach Audio from the menu that appears. This will make it so you can move the audio separately from the video. Keyframes - Final Cut Pro X

Mix your music! Learn GarageBand in 30 Days! mhlo.co Keyframes are changes that you make regarding control that can be applied to both audio and video in Final Cut Pro X. For instance, you might have a scene you're editing that requires the audio to lower in the middle of the scene and then increase back to its original level toward the end of the scene. To do so, select the clip you need to adjust by clicking on it. Then, press and hold Alt/Option on your keyboard. A small plus sign will appear with your mouse icon. When you click with your mouse on the audio clip in the Timeline while pressing and holding Alt/Option you will create a Keyframe point. Keep making points along the audio clip as desired. These points allow you to adjust the level/volume of the audio wherever they are on the clip. Once created, you can click and hold with your mouse on these points to move them around as you like. Keyframes can also be used to create motion with graphics and Titles. To do so, add a Title to the Timeline and double-click on it to reveal the Inspector window to the right of the Viewer. Place the play marker at the beginning of your Title and add Keyframes. You can do this under the Video tab in the Inspector window by clicking the small diamond-shaped icons to the right of the options under the Transform menu. These icons will turn a yellowish-orange color when enabled. You can adjust the Position, Rotation and Scale of the Title with Keyframes. Once the Keyframes are enabled ...
