After the skydiving season we did a two week base trip around Norway. We started off doing some tracking jumps off Griset, but got bored of just tracking and pulling low. So we decided to do a two piont (head down star - Vice versa) from Karlskråtind. The jump went well and Petter actually also tracked the whole thing out. Then we did a two way free exit that we flew into a grip and carved into two full circles from Katthammaren. By now we were pretty confident and we put in one more person and did a three way head down flower into a round from Togveggen. We started calling this activity freebasing. It was an interresting two weeks for sure :-) All the footage is filmed by my GoPro, which I love :-)

Zipser will forego the previous balloon-lift method used by the current record-holder, and instead will jump from an IOS SR 145 rocket. The launcher will propel Olav to an altitude of over 40 kilometers (about 25 miles) where he will eject from the launch vehicle and FreeFly back towards earth in what he intends to be the longest, fastest, and highest skydive in history: his FreeFly Astronaut Project. Hurtling towards the ground at speeds of up to 200mph, these 41 brave and adventurous ladies have just set the new women's free-fly world record. Falling headfirst in a dive-bomb as opposed to a more traditional horizontal descent, the skydivers more than doubled the number of women in the previous world record. Female skydivers from across the world took off in three propeller aircraft from Sky Dive Arizona airfield in Eloy in the American desert state. A beautiful video by the guys at Freefly Cinema using their Cinestar 3 Axis Gimbal, which I composed & produced the score for! Writing it has been the most enjoyable few days of composition so far this year - although it wasn't hard to be inspired by the incredible footage! It honestly still takes my breath away. (The last time I flew a remote controlled helicopter I accidentally flew it into my dog...) Here's some word's on the video side of things: "Henning Sandstrom stopped by FreeFly HQ on his way to Maui to teach me how to film beautiful forest scenes like he does so well! The weather was really challenging, but we got the chance to do a few flights with the newly completed 3 axis gimbal. This video shows the gimbal with a Sony FS100 and 18-55 lens. Henning also was flying his CineStar 8 for some of the zoomed in shots with a 160mm lens equivalent (Canon 100mm lens on 7D) We shot the behind the scenes with a RED EPIC at 300FPS.
