KGB is the Russian abbreviation for Committee for State Security, the organisation serving as the Soviet Union's premier security agency, secret police and intelligence agency. It is now known as the FSB (Federal Security Service) and is marking 90 years since its foundation.

Russia's Federal Security Service have arrested a militant leader who's being linked to the attempted murder of the President of Ingushetia, in Russia's south. Yunusbek Evkurov was seriously wounded when a car bomb went off while his motorcade was passing by in the city of Nazran last June. The Ingush president only regained consciousness two weeks after the attack and was hospitalized for almost two months. The arrested suspect is also believed to have organized other violence in the region, including the strike on the police headquarters in Nazran that killed 25 and wounded more than a hundred. Magas is also linked to 2001 Beslan school siege, in which at least 334 hostages were killed, including 186 children.

Spetsnaz FSB - Russian Special Forces (Спецназ ЦСН РФ Альфа)
The Alpha (Alfa) Group (also known as Spetsgruppa A) is an elite Russian dedicated counter-terrorism unit that belongs to the Spetsnaz (special-purpose forces) of the FSB (Federal Security Service), or more specifically the "A" Directorate of the FSB Special Operations Center (TsSN). The main objective of this special unit - the power operations to prevent acts of terrorism, hostage rescue, etc. In addition, the men of Alpha are attracted to other operations of the FSB special and high complexity, as well as acting in "hot spots", including Chechnya. Similar in essence anti-terror special forces exist in many countries, in particular, GSG9 - in Germany, SAS - in the UK and the Army's Delta force and Navy's SEAL Team Six - in the United States.

The president has put the FSB domestic security service on alert, strengthened security on the metro system and Prime Minister Vladimir Putin has announced that security services are looking for three men in connection to the attack. The Russian Federal Security Bureau's (FSB)Colonel, formerly known as the KGB, in North Ossetia claims that the United States had plans to build bases funded by Israel to strike at Tehran's nuclear infrastrcture. The bases were to be built in South Ossetia with the full support of the Georgian Government.
