A new, fun way of online fundraising that anyone can use for any event they're taking part in. This film shows how it can be used for any runner. In essence it's an online sweepstake that anyone can set-up to fundraise for any event or occasion. For example, if you were running the London Marathon, you'd ask friends to guess how long it would take you. Each guess is £3 with between £2.01 and £2.50 (including Gift Aid) going to charity, and 50p going to the prize fund. The person who guesses closest to your marathon time wins the prize fund (the sum total of all the 50p's). This video won me an unexpected award - Marketable Skills Achievement Certificate for Digital Video (a title I think they had to come up with because of me and my partner. And to my video partner who's subscribed to me last time I checked, did you get one of those too? I hope so, you helped!). For our final in Digital Video II we actually had to work with a real client. My partner and I worked with the Department of Community Development for NVC - our goal: to get people to donate us money. We're a great school and we do great thing, but the cost of college has, is, and probably will continue to ridiculously rise. How are we supposed to educate our community when no one can afford it? Donations help keep the cost of college down. If it wasn't for Northwest Vista's low prices and excellent teaching I wouldn't be the superb person I am today I think the only thing I regret is the lighting on a couple of shots. I was never good at lighting (even though it's my favorite topic in video! Weird...). And some lapel mics that were visible.
