Funfair rides @ Mablethorpe - Past & Present - Waltzer Dodgems Twister Paratrooper & More!
This is a video I've produced using a mixture of home video clips, photo's and archive images to show the rides at Mablethorpes famous seaside Fun Fair.lt also shows how some of rides used to look, ones that have gone, and some of the rides from the good old days.Mablethorpe funfair is a permanent site, which has been around for many years, and has always had traditional rather than white knuckle theme park style rides.The prices are good, and on some special nights all rides are only 99p, this is in contrast to the nearby, and more expensive 'theme park' style fairs at Fantasy Island and Skegness.There is also the famous travelling fair which visits Boston, and takes over most of the town.I don't have a clip of the traditional Big Wheel they have now added (You can see this at Dune Leisure's website, the fairs owners) but I've been a few times, and have seen a lot of changes to the fair and town.There used to be an indoor fair as well, in a big warehouse behind one of the towns arcades, this is now home to an indoor Boot Sale, and a leaky roof!. The rides at Mablethorpe have been updated and repainted in recent years to make sure all the rides look their best, this includes the dodgem cars being replaced, it's just a shame some of the shops in town couldn't do the same, as some of them look a bit shabby.The Fair is great for those with a family having rides suitable for all ages, with many Juvenille rides, which I show in this video, and of course it's next to one of the <b>...</b>

Euro (UK) Fun Fair - Esplanade, Singapore (2011)
Video taken on 3rd February 2011, recorded using iPhone 3Gs. Hence, I apologize for the quality. Euro Fun Fair was held at Esplanade (Singapore) nearby Makansutra. It was my first time going to the fair. I heard that it exists for couple of years now, and I had no idea about it until this year. Glad I went for it though! Went there with Shaenaz and Idayu. Tried some rides, and it was freakin' awesome! May not look as scary but it was sure nerve-wrecking and thrilling for me! I've got on the Sky Rider and Top Gun. Both were great! Especially the Top Gun, whereby it swings and stops when you're at the top and hung upside down! That was just scary. In general, the rides aren't scary... It is what you think when you're on it, that made it scary. When I was on those rides, all I thought about was the worst things that could have happen. That is why it was scary for me... Nonetheless, it was fun and exciting!! You wouldn't be able to find such rides often here in Singapore, so it was worth it once a while paying for those rides. Going to Universal Studios Singapore next! Just waiting for all rides (the rollercoasters!!) to be up and running... Physics in Action: At the Funfair
Craig Z. Anthony shows us how physics is everywhere we look, even where we least expect it! Biography For 15 years Craig Z. Anthony has been at the forefront of the accessible educational video scene, providing excellent, informal films which really are fun for the whole family at least! Craig graduated from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1993, majoring in Physics (and fun science!) and returned to his home town of Rochdale, working for the hit show 'Tomorrow's World' where he literally brought physics to the medium size screen (TV). Soon after he scored a deal with Grenada Television, for a show that would later become the archetypal and hugely successful 'Physics in Action' which was first aired in January 1997. Over 500 episodes have been made to this day, including 'At the Funfair', 'On the Roads' and 'At a Rock Concert' to name but a few, with each episode lasting around 1 minute 30 seconds. The complete catalogue can be found on various internet video sites such as Metacafe and Veoh. As well as frequent televisual appearances, Craig had cameo roles in the hit films 'Titanic' and 'Police Academy: Mission to Moscow'. Craig Continues to provide educational videos, under his own company 'FSM' (Fun Science Media), whilst also providing national school lectures such as 'How are Life Would Be Different Without: Rotary Encoders'. Stevens Funfair visits Cassiobury Park, Watford May - June 2010
This is the annual visit by Stevens Funfair to Cassiobury Park in Watford during the end of May Bank Holiday weekend.I remembered coming here when I was younger, so after all these years, I thought I'd take my son.It's a much bigger fair than the Smiths one which is the only one which visits the area where I live, and has some big theme park style rides in amongst the usual Dodgems, Waltzer, and Twister.The last time I'd been to this fair was back in 1991, and some of the rides of that time, have obviously been sold on, like the pirate ship.It was great day out, even though it rained most of the time we were there, although luckily, because of this, the rides were reduced.Sorry about the poor quality, it was taken with my mobile, which isn't the latest and greatest.The unusual choice of text colours were chosen, to reflect those associated with funfair signs. It was quite funny, that when I got home and thought about the day, I realised there was something different about the fair, not the rides, or how big it was now, or even the Hi-Vis jackets that all the ride operators seemed to now wear, bloddy health & safety!, no something was missing.I couldn't quite think what it was, and then it came to me, you didn't see hardly any of the funfair transport lorries, and you couldn't hear the deisel generators, they're now nearly silent, and behind the cabs of modern Volvo trucks, and nearly all of them were hidden in amongst the trees.I guess the old days of Foden and Guy trucks <b>...</b>
