DEATH WALTZ CANT BE PLAYED ON A PIANO!! The problem is that the song was programmed incorrectly and just past the middle of the song there are too many overlapping notes . The computer compensates but the piano cannot. I have tried to re-write it somewhat but does not have the same effect. If someone actually wrote the music to play on a piano like Circus Gallop it would play but they basically just wrote the song for the computer to play and cannot be played on a real piano. Pianist: Gyorgy (Georges) Cziffra playing Liszt's "Grand Galop Chromatique," in E-flat major S. 219. I read on someone elses video that this was live from Japan.. thats incorrect. This was filmed on September 25th, 1963 at the "ORTF," (Office de Radiodiffusion Télévision Française) in Paris. Cziffra was mostly affiliated with Liszt seeing as how he had the immense technical prowess necessary to play such "romps" as this. He was big headed too, hahaha. this piece was composed in 1838, same year as "La Campanella," guess Liszt was feeling -FRISKA- baddum tshh! (bad joke) :/ ps - this piece annoys the HELL out of me!

From a recital I gave ten years ago in high school. This is the original version with no cuts, and none of Liszt's optional simplifications. The octaves at the end, for example, were in the original score but cut from every subsequent publication as well as the more famous version Cziffra plays. As far as I know, this version is only found in Edition Budapest's publication of the complete Liszt piano works.

This is the recording from the annual County Band 2007 CD! I played this song with the peoples (They were all like way older than me...I was 15) I played the tenor sax, and I still do! This one was really quick and was still fun to play but it still wasn't as fast as the original and others that played it. It was the last one we played in the line up: Fantasia in G Minor Slava! This is a song that I basically just hit all the notes I can on the fast parts. If I don't hit at least half of the notes with good or perfect then i lose some life bar. If I hit a note that isn't there I lose life bar. If I hit outside of the 1/15th of a second from where the arrow is supposed to be hit, then I lose life bar. This is the 2nd time I've ever passed this song. I'm glad I finally got it on video for you to see how ridiculous this song is to play.

Marc-André Hamelin (1961-): Circus Galop This humorous piece was written by Hamelin for two player pianos (it's definitely impossible to perform physically!) This has become a notorious midi file enjoyed by musicians and non-musicians alike. It also can be used to test the capabilities of midi-interpreting machines and software, pushing them far beyond what they are normally expected to handle. The midi file has a whopping 17327 notes - that's more than in Beethoven's entire Waldstein piano sonata! Crammed into a piece not even four and a half minutes long, that amounts to an average of over 65 notes per second! This rendition is played by a dense combination of sounds generated by our Matlab synthesizer, which include guitar, sax, clarinet, and a subtractive-synthesis voice not modeled after a real instrument. In this mix, we attempted to convey the playful, circusy feel of the piece while highlighting the thick sonic landscape that develops from Hamelin's numerous musical phrases being superimposed throughout this piece. Unfortunately, this video took an unusually hard hit from the lossy audio compression involved in YouTube's transcoding of all uploads.
