Classic Game Room reviews GRAND THEFT AUTO III 10 Year Anniversary edition for the iPad from Rockstar (also available for Android tablets), a mobile version of 2001's awesome GTA III, the installment that changed video games forever. I originally played through this game on PlayStation 2 way back when and love the GTA style action and mayhem, but how about these new mobile controls? While the touch screen "thumbstick" is far from perfect, the GTA3 controls on iPad feel a lot like a keyboard with a sticky d-pad. Graphics, gameplay and sound remain surprisingly consistent with the PS2 original (if there's serious changes I don't remember them). Driving with iPad controls works quite well but this game could really use a BlueTooth PS2 style controller for iPad. Watch Kevin Romy of Switzerland's awesome soccer-skate pass in IIHF worlds With his stick shattered and the puck headed his way, a Swiss player is forced to get creative. Once again, soccer skills hit the ice with nearly amazing results. Last weekend, it was Ilya Kovalchuk's header that nearly kept the puck in play at the blue line for the New Jersey Devils. On Tuesday, it was Kevin Romy of Switzerland booting the puck to a teammate with his skate. Happens every game, right? Well, sure, but it usually doesn't beat two defensemen to spark a breakaway chance. (The play starts at the 27-second mark of the clip.) Romy broke his stick, dropping it to the ice. The puck deflected off the twig, slowed down and Romy then kicked it through the neutral zone to his teammate. Damien Brunner nearly completed the short-handed scoring attempt, but Kari Lehtonen made a solid stop, keeping Romy's pass off the score sheet. Finland won the game, 5-2. Nevertheless, that was a hell of a pass — skate to stick, through the defense and keeping the play onside. It's just nice to see soccer and hockey mashing up in a positive way instead of, well, the usual comparisons.

There's many different things that DT can stand for but Quality Controls isn't one of them. DT Racer suffers from style over substance and has extremely poor driving gameplay mixed with awesome crashes, good music and cool replays (usually full of said crashes). Collect up to 26 cars from non-licensed but still-resembling real life cars like the NSX and Dodge Viper... or whatever they call them in this game. DT Racer gameplay is fast and challenging but cars fail with terrible understeer combined with on-or-off braking and poor visibility. CGR DT Racer video review has gameplay from DT Racer played on PS2 with widescreen visuals and stereophonic sound. The DT Racer cheat code to unlock / buy all of the cars from a new career mode is L1 L2 Triangle R1 R2 start career mode (from main menu). Interesting note, DT Racer works with the EyeToy camera and can take a picture of you and apply it to the game's driver icon. Good crashes, good tunes, terrible driving controls = DT Racer!

Power Strike 2 review. Classic Game Room reviews POWER STRIKE II for Sega Game Gear by Compile and Sega released in 1993. This handheld vertical scrolling 2D SHMUP style space ship shooter is one of the awesome games in the Aleste series from Compile (think MUSHA and Robo Aleste) and delivers bomb-ass-fresh gameplay along with stunning music. Sadly, the Sega Game Gear's screen deteriorates over time leaving the visuals desaturated and muddy (at least on my GameGear) but the game still rocks out with its Aleste out.
