What kind of garbage truck is that? What type of trash truck collects my waste? What do you call that sanitation truck? What kinds of refuse trucks are there? If you have one of those questions or a similar one, you've come to the right place! I made this video to show off as many collection vehicles as possible. I hope that this will help anyone that is interested in learning a little more about the industry. TYPES OF "GARBAGE TRUCK" 2
Since I have many fans of the original "TYPES OF 'GARBAGE TRUCK'" video, I thought it would be good to make a new one covering some different types of trucks. Also, I was very happy to find out that I had many very young fans that really enjoyed the first one - so to the parents out there - hopefully this will be a welcome edition! To all the rest of my fans - I hope you all enjoy it! What you'll notice in this video: 1. I put some effort into making transitions between clips. 2. There's several types of trucks missing - some of the ones I omitted include grapples, container delivery, and roll-off trucks. 3. In this video I actually have a clip of a MSL and I have several clips of residential front loaders. The almost 20 minute length is intimidating at first, but if you like garbage trucks - you'll be amazed at how fast the video goes. Eventually I'll add "short cut" times here, like on the last video, so you can skip to the type of truck you enjoy seeing the most. Garbage Trucks Part III
The first truck, a Heil DuraPack Python on Autocar chassis was collecting garbage from small apartment buildings and duplexes along Sunshine Blvd in Golden Gate. The second truck, Heil DuraPack 7000 was recorded on the other side of Golden Gate. I believe this is the last 7000 WM has locally, and is currently used as a spare. The third truck, an older EZ-Pack Hercules FL was collecting mixed paper and cardboard for Sunshine Recycling, in a back alley near downtown. The driver was very fast, and I lost him after the one stop you see here. The last truck, the G&H Split RL was recorded in Lake Park, recyclables were sorted into seperate fiber and commingled containers streams. The recyclables are dumped into roll off containers, and hauled away by Sunshine Recycling to be processed at their MRF. Every one of these drivers was very friendly, many thanks for letting me film them at work.

Leichhardt Garbage Trucks
Here is some more residential work with rear loaders on my side of the world, this time over at Leichhardt in Sydney's inner west. The council takes care of the garbage, green-waste, clean-up and food collections and URM handles the recycling. It may also interest you to know that some areas within the council are actually serviced during the evening after 5pm! I believe the council runs four of these medium size trucks for the collections, with a Compaction Systems and Heil shown in this video. We see these two small 4x2 rear loaders knocking off the rest of the Friday garbage run. I got there pretty much just in time that morning; there were only two streets to service... and that was just after 7:30am! I noticed the collections done by council works are completed pretty early in that area. Good examples would be Strathfield who finish around 6:30am and then Burwood who finish around 7:30am too. Garbage Trucks
This video showcases the main trucks used for residential garbage and recycling collection in Kennewick, WA. First up we have a Wittke Starlight Front Loader on a Freightliner Condor chassis, outfitted with a Curotto Can II. Waste Management runs two of these in Kennewick. They were purchased in 2002/2003 to experiment with automated collection. The next truck in the video is a McNeilus M/A with the optional automated arm, mounted on a Freightliner Condor chassis. After success with the Curotto Can's, Kennewick went fully automated in 2005. Waste Management now runs 5 McNeilus M/A's on Freightliner Condors in Kennewick. The last truck in this video is a Dempster Recycle One mounted on a WhiteGMC Xpeditor WXLL chassis. Kennewick has been running two of these for recycling for at least 18 years now. The one featured in this video is a spare truck, and has hoppers on both sides of the body. The two regular Dempster Recycle One's in Kennewick only have hoppers on the curb side. LANL debuts hybrid garbage truck
Los Alamos National Laboratory has begun using a diesel-hydraulic hybrid garbage truck that could save up to 30 percent in operating costs and greenhouse emissions. The Peterbilt Model 320 takes energy from braking and uses it to help the truck accelerate after stops.

You can load the cans or the bin in the back. The grinding gears of the compactor are really loud but there's a replacement part available (for $25--saving for that). Adventures With Shane - Garbage Trucks in Kennewick Part I
So this last Wednesday, me and Shane went back to the Curotto Can route we visited a couple of weeks ago. Unfortunately the usual super-awesome driver was gone and had sub driver who was alright, but a bit paranoid about filming. Luckily though, the sub driver was very behind on the route, so several other trucks came to assist. In total, I got 6 trucks on film - 3 McNeilus M/A's (2 in action, plus a quick shot of all three lined up on one street discussing who was going to cover what), the Wittke Fl/Curotto Can, several drive-by's of a EnviroCon Inc.
