Officially entitled "Brian Islam and Brucie", in my view one of the best examples of Terry Gilliam's Monty Python animations... -edit- I notice that Monty Python has, rightly, claimed ownership of this video - I thank them for not demanding it be removed, but if they do wish to put it on their own channel I'll gladly remove it. I have no wish to detract from Python's work, and only put this online because it was apparently not, at the time, available anywhere else :)

In a TCM interview, the legendary film director Terry Gilliam reveals his opinion on Schindler's List and Spielberg and mainstream Hollywood in general, saying things that most filmmakers, critics and viewers are too scared to express. He also mentions Stanley Kubrick, compares Kubrick and Spielberg and praises the ending of 2001: A Space Odyssey for its thought-provoking ambiguity.

During Spring 2002, new advertisements from Nike were broadcast featuring many of the world's best footballers. The short films - made to tie in with the 2002 World Cup in Korea/Japan - were directed by Terry Gilliam. Two advertisements were filmed - "The Secret Tournament" and "The Rematch". This webpage contains stills and behind-the-scenes pictures from the adverts. "The Secret Tournament" was filmed in December 2001. Gilliam worked with Nicola Pecorini as Director of Photography and set designer Stefano Maria Ortolani. The advert, shot at Rome's Filmhouse Studios, is set in the belly of a cargo liner. Within the cargo liner is a massive cage with turf. Where eight teams of three players play a tournament under the watchful eye of Eric Cantona. "The Rematch" was filmed on January 28 and 29. Fraser Taggart was Director of Photography for this second shooting session. The action takes place to the scintillating backdrop of a re-mixed version of the Elvis Presley song "A Little Less Conversation." How Spielberg Might Respond to Terry Gilliam & Salman Rushdie
At the 2002 Telluride Film Festival, director Terry Gilliam and author Salman Rushdie, during a conversation of science fiction films, exchanged a series of criticisms on a handful of Steven Spielberg films -- including "Close Encounters of the Third Kind" (1977), "ET The Extra-Terrestrial" (1982), and "AI Artificial Intelligence" (2001). Most significantly, both Gilliam and Rushdie were under a popular impression that Spielberg had tampered with Stanley Kubrick's vision of "AI" and had supposedly slapped on the film's half-hour finale at the last minute. Ever wonder what Spielberg might say in response to Gilliam and Rushdie's criticisms? This presentation will give you an idea. Ever heard of Joe Gilliam? Probably not. Gilliam was the initial catalyst at quarterback in 1974 who first ignited the Pittsburgh Steelers Super Bowl winning ways. He was the first African-American quarterback to open a season as a starter. After posting a 6-0 preseason record followed by a 4-1-1 regular season Gilliam was benched in favor of Terry Bradshaw.
