Canon 60D Glidecam 2000 Pro Running
For my Madelyn. Just testing out balancing on the Canon 60D with a Glidecam 2000 pro while running. At the beginning of me running you can see i am just kinda of holding the grip and not really directing where it is shooting till the end of the run. Flying the 7D on the Glidecam 2000
Canon 7D + Canon 20-35mm on a Glidecam 2000 with 1 washer weight on both ends of the lower plate, extended to its max, works perfectly and is very light, not requiring a support system. With zoom lenses i would try 2 washers. Finding your cameras balancing point is crucial in making the glidecam adjustments easy. So do that before trying to mount it on the glidecam. (How i find the balance : first i set the camera up ready to shoot... find its center of gravity... mount it to the glidecams top plate...secure the adjustment bolts...extend the bottom plate to its max...keep everything centered.. start with nothing on the bottom plate... grab it by the handle lift up gently and the bottom should try to flip up ...add weight equally to both sides of the bottom plate til the bottom barely starts to hold itself down ...then tighten everything on the bottom plate... then put it on the table and lift on the handle only and adjust the top sliding plates until you can lift it and it stays level... then your flying!) viralvisuals viralvisuals.com

How to balance Canon 60D on Glidecam 2000 Pro
Upon request here it is... With more time you can get it balanced better but thats about as good as it gets for the time sake. GlideCam 2000 Pro Test
GlideCam 2000 pro test! After dialing it in I took it out for a try and this is what I got. Everything is straight out of the camera. I used a Canon 5D Mark ii, 24-70mm L @ 24mm's, F22, ISO 100 and Shutter at 1/50th. I have no prior experience with filming so I'm just playing with both camera settings and the GlideCam.

Read... The beginning is lame, I know. The white balance in the kitchen is just horrible, but it's a quick test I threw together. This thing is incredibly hard to balance, and equally as hard to operate. After a few good days with it, I still have some practice to do. Don't do the "gliding shots" like I did, with lots of turns n stuff. It just throws the thing off and it bobs. Just do straight shots. I realized also that it likes to protrude upward sometimes during the video. I Didn't notice that while filming but it needs more practice. I balanced it as well as I could, and it's pretty good. I just need more time. Filmed with Canon T2i, 28-135mm lens. (28mm the whole time) Color corrected with MB MOJO. Edited with Premiere Pro CS4
