R1 Go Kart Passes a Cop
WATCH TILL THE END, A POLICE CAR PASSES IN THE OPPOSITE DIRECTION!! If your impatient to watch 10 minutes of video, skip to 7:50 and watch till the end for the best part. 2005 Yamaha R1 Sport Bike engine in a Beisse Shifter Kart. Around 180 HP, weighs about 220lbs. Previous owner had Kart up to 181 mph before a tire blew out. Using GoPro Hero High Def camera with adhesive mount. NOTE: The rear tires are worn out so the driver didn't do anything to crazy. The ending was edited out to protect the driver, what you missed was the kart driving into a garage door that was purposely left open 3-4 feet, the driver gets out and rushes to close the door. CBR600 Go-Cart
This is a go kart me and me buddy worked on in shop class. I did not put it together, all i did was take the enging out and fix the timign and some other stuff, then put it back in there and fired it up, i had to do th clutch, shifter, and mount the speedo but thats bout it. Since i have been getting alot of responses of " what a pussy take it out of 2 or hes being scared ( which i have a 1200 rocket so im pretty sure i woulda handled it) i would take it going 100 ( riiiiight ok then), and quit rolling on the throttle, take it out into the field, and so on, i will revise the description my dad put on here and tell you some details. We were not planning on puting it on youtube in the first plce, and as everyody knows you get a little more braver and stupider in front of the camera, well i didnt know that so we were just putsin around, First of all, no brakes(at all) 2nd of all it was the first time having it out of the shop and actually riding it, 3rd of all the frames not very sturdy at all, and 4th we had it for sale on ebay thats the last thing i wanted to do is screw it up. Also I sold it awhile ago so do not have anymore, any more questions or comments i would love to answer!
Electric Go Kart
This is my Electric Go Kart project. A buddy of mine, gave me the frame with a blown motor so I decided to make it electric. It is running a Club Car motor, 3 12V Marine batteries, Curtis controller and pot box. A friend of mine machined an end bearing plate for the motor and another machined a motor mount for me. My son seems to enjoy it.
Homemade gokart (gocart) with Harbor Freight 2.5 hp engine 79cc
I just finished up with this homemade gokart with a harbor freight 2.5hp engine. We have a small backyard and my boys have never driven one before so I was trying to have it go around lawn mower speed. I'd say it probably goes 10mph when topped out. The governer is removed and it will wind out with me on it to over 4500 rpm (I have a tiny tach). I used a 12 tooth clutch and then took a spare jackshaft sprocket and welded it to a 40 tooth axle gear which is on the jackshaft. Then it goes to a 13 tooth sprocket and then to a 60 tooth. Frame is welded out of 1" tubing from local hardware stores. It was very tricky because of the thin tubing and avoiding blowing through the metal with the welder. This engine is capable of much faster speed with different gearing however my family has a yard with some hills and the boys are cautious about putting the pedal to the metal so the low gearing works fine. It did take me several head scratches to figure out why the engine kept shutting down and then figured out it had a low oil cutoff that was triggered when I was cutting the corners. I actually built two karts in two weeks. First one was a 1.5 feet longer which was great for adults but even with the adjustable seat the boys were having a hard time pushing the gas all the way down. Update: The 60T sproket was swapped for a 40T sprocket on the main axle for additional ground clearance. The current drive is a 12T clutch to a 40T on the jackshaft outputing to a 11T and then to a 40T on <b>...</b>

16 HP SICK Go Kart
Decided to swap my little 5.5HP Honda engine for a 16HP vanguard twin cylinder Briggs and Stratton. All of this took basically a night and a day. Needs a better pull start, and a muffler of course... which will increase speed. Pretty good overall since it was sitting on a shelf for over a year.

My Home Made 36HP Go-Kart
This go kart/Buggy was made by my dad, my uncle, and myself. it started life as a kawasaki GPX 250 and it didn't run when we got it. we bought the bike for $900 and the next few weekends were cleaning the carby idle and main jets and general maintenance of the motor like new spark plugs and a heap of other stuff. now she runs like new. we then took it all apart and left the motor and electrics sitting there for a couple of months while we built the frame and got all of that done and when we put it back together in the go kart it didn't run. we did all the same things and got it to run again idling very low and it very rarely stalls. all up it cost between 1500 and 2000 to make it but it was worth all the trouble it gave us.

ultralight rail road track go cart light weight home made go kart going crossing trestle with chain saw motor clutch and reduction drive the way i did the drive train was to convert it over to v-belt,the drive wheel is just a good skate board wheel with av slot carved in to it.it is best if you use a clutch with a reduction drive,i got my v belt clutch from a 1 speed gewasher machine..my wheels were raw bearings 6205 with a wood core with 6202 hanging down for roller guides..and when the track narrows in,you will need a little spring loaded suspention to compensate.I used some parts from the kids toy Click & Go 1980s stuff.
