Overall, this guitar is one of the best examples that we have ever seen. There is no fading to the back or neck and no greening to the gold top. Housed in the original Gibson "Bulb Headstock" five-latch Lifton brown hardshell case with pink plush lining (9.00). Solid mahogany body with a solid carved maple top, one-piece mahogany neck with a nice, thick profile, and rosewood fretboard which has been expertly re-fretted with 22 slightly larger frets. The nut was replaced at the time of the tre-fret (original nut in case).Inlaid pearl trapezoid (crown) position markers. Serial number ("6 5942") inked-on in black on the back of the headstock. The top of the guitar has a single cream binding and the fretboard has single white binding. Headstock with inlaid pearl "Gibson" logo and with "Les Paul Model" silk-screened in gold. Two-layer (black on white) plastic truss-rod cover. Individual single-line "no-name" Kluson Deluxe tuners with original single-ring tulip-shaped Keystone plastic buttons (stamped on the inside "2356766 PAT APPLD."). Two very hot P-90 pickups with outputs of 7.75k and 8.17k. Cream plastic pick-up covers stamped inside "UC-452-F/1" (on the neck pickup) and "UC-452-B/2" (on the bridge pickup). Single-layer cream plastic pickguard. Four controls (two volume, two tone) on lower treble bout plus three-way pickup selector switch on upper bass bout. Gold plastic bell-shaped "Bell" knobs. This is my 1975 Ibanez 'Lawsuit' Gold Top. Bought whilst living in England, this thing has obviously had some interesting owners, and life has gotten much better for it in my hands. Someone called John Birch has tried to scratch their own name and serial in it, but many Ibanez experts have backed up the store's claim (and mine) that this is a Japanese Ibanez. Clips are played through a Ceriatone Marshall 18watt TMB clone with Weber speakers, with a Zvex Box of Rock, Crowther Hotcake, BYOC Analog Chorus, and Boss RV5 in sections (mentioned in video while playing). A copy of of a '54 Gibson, It has the wonderfully weathered look that so many people are trying to bash/scratch/wear into brand new guitars. The 'lawsuit' refers to the Gibson-copy headstock, upon which a previous owner has placed a Gibson decal. It's been mistaken for a Gibson at gigs, but I rather it just said Ibanez! It has the 'butcher's block' body, with the matching back veneer. It has the hollow cavity between the clock and and maple cap too. It would have originally come with mini-humbuckers when new, but has had full-size humbuckers at some point in its life (hence the holes). Now it has Tonerider P90's, and sounds great. You can hear how loud and resonant acoustically when I play the overdriven sections - you can hear the strings in the room over my Marshall amp! Recently has been refitted with new switch, pots, jack, Wilkinson tuners, bridge, tailpice and pickups - setup by Tym Guitars in Brisbane <b>...</b>

A minor fingerpick noodling improv, all original genuine '68 Les Paul Goldtop. Vaguely inspired by Jack Pearson, 7 seconds in, I realized...I'm no Jack Pearson! I'm not a music store, but I am flanked in the video by a nice 1962 Brazillian Rosewood Nylon string guitar, an old Vox Ac30, and a couple of great old Fender Stratocasters, nothing is for sale or trade. I have a really nice shootout coming up between a genuine 1957 strat and some late 80's strats with boutique reissue pickups, Lindy Fralin, and Peter Florance. I continue to maintain that the boutique stuff is close as you can possibly get, basically as good, and a whole lot cheaper. This one was real though, I believe it was made in December of 1968 by the serial number and pot codes.
