Omega 3's - Consume some "Good Fats"

Essential fatty acids are simply fats your body cannot live without. They are needed to make cell membranes, hormones, and other body chemicals. Essential fats are thought to keep your heart healthy, fight inflammation, and possibly prevent cancer. They are also particularly important to people with inflammatory conditions such as eczema and acne, and also for people with dry skin. People with essential fat deficiency sometimes notice bumps on the backs of their arms. Here are my suggestions on getting more essential fats: · Flaxseed and walnut oil - Use flaxeed oil or walnut oil with balsamic vinegar as a salad dressing. Be sure to keep these oils refrigerated. They should not be heated or used for cooking. · Cold water fish - Sardines are a good source of essential fats. Salmon is another good source, however these salmon accumulate toxic polychlorinated biphenyls (otherwise known as PCBs) in their body fat during the 95 percent of their lives they spend at sea. · Supplements - Something to Consider.. OmegaGuard is made with a state-of-the-art, proprietary, triple molecular distillation process, that concentrates the natural beneficial omega-3 fatty acids while helping remove the harmful compounds. Peanut Butter - Bad For Snacks?

www.scoobysworkshop.com Although *natural* peanut butter is a great source of "good fats", it is a horrible source of protein. If you use peanut butter as a primary source of protein, you will get FAT. Its fine for an occasional treat and its fine is small amounts to get "good fats" but limit it to a thin layer. Better yet, just eat raw NUTS! You know for sure what you are getting then. If you want protein, without meat then use BEANS not nuts. Beans are cheaper, way lower in calories, way lower in fat, and way higher in fiber.

How to lose weight quickly - Losing weight quickly is possible

How to lose weight quickly? Losing weight quickly is not complicated; this is the most recurrent question that I've been asked since I've been working in the fitness facilities and gyms as a professional personal trainer. The process of losing weight quickly is a goal dependent on several factors: 1) lifestyle. 2) Diet regimen. 3) Exercise (weight training and aerobic training) protocols. 4) Genetic response to external stimuli (diet regimen and exercise programs). Since one's self genetic pattern is a nature given characteristic that we inherited by birth upon the unique process of crossing over between our parents' chromosomes, this is considered the non modifiable aspect among the 4 above listed that contribute on the process to lose weight quickly. This is so because we have no control on our genetic. So how to lose weight quickly - given the precise genetic pattern that characterize the magnitude and extent of our physiological response to certain external stimuli - become just a matter of manipulating the modifiable factors, which are: life style, diet and exercise. How to lose weight quickly depends on how accurate and scientifically-backed are both the diet and exercise programs' set up. How to lose weight quickly with the diet. Dieting properly is one of the most important contributing factors to induce a sensible fat loss process, thus leading to important levels of weight loss. What does dieting properly specifically mean? The word "diet" is a Greek word and ...

1 of 4 Good Calories, Bad Calories? Dr Ronald Krauss and Gary Taubes (November 2nd, 2007)

www.sciencefriday.com How much do we really know about how our bodies react to the food we eat? Conventional medical wisdom says that eating foods high in cholesterol is bad for you, and has links to the development of heart disease. In a new book, "Good Calories, Bad Calories," science writer Gary Taubes suggests that perhaps the emphasis on dietary fat and cholesterol is misplaced, and other factors, such as carbohydrate consumption, should be targeted instead. Join Ira in this segment for a conversation with Taubes about his book, and how it fits into the nutritional big picture. Healthy meals for students and other busy people: 6-pack abs and gain muscle with good nutrition

www.scoobysworkshop.com Good nutrition is the secret to both losing fat and gaining muscle, in this video I show you how to eat 6 inexpensive, nutritious meals a day without cooking or shopping. This video is in response to the hundreds of people who have written me saying they knew their nutrition was horrible but felt powerless to improve it because of the schedule constraints of their work, school, or life. Eating 6 small, well balanced meals a day is easy when you know how and once your nutrition is on track you will find it easy to reduce bodyfat to show those 8-pack abs and gain muscle too. The one thing you need to do though is get rid of the idea that food always has to be tasty. Jack LaLane had a great saying "If it tastes good, spit it out!" and its so true. If something is that good then its most likely got too much sugar, salt, fat or artificial flavors. When something tastes really, really good your first thought should be - "whats in this?". Think about what you are eating! If what makes it taste good is the nasty stuff mentioned above then spit it out. Obviously if you are eating a carrot or an apple and it tastes good this doesnt apply. The saying is designed to make you think about everything you eat. If you dont know what is on the list of ingredients and its nutritional content then SPIT IT OUT! Here are the meals I eat during the video 5:00am coffee and protein powder mixed in water (about 100 cals) 6:30am oatmeal with flax and protein powder (about ...

Why Low Fat Is Important

Kristina Carrillo-Bucaram of Rawfully Organic and FullyRaw explains Why Low Fat is Important, and she shares with you 3 EASY Tips to help you avoid eating too much fat. A Few Notes: • Fats are GOOD, but only certain types of fat and not in excessive amounts • A high fat diet, whether you are cooked or raw, is not healthy • High fat consumption is the #1 reason why so many fail at the raw diet. • While many think that sugar is the culprit to Candida, obesity, diabetes, heart disease, or even cancer, I will argue that fat creates a more negative affect on our bodies than any source of sugar. High Fat in Cooked Foods: • Americans typically consume 1/3 of their calories from fat. • For those that consume fast food sporadically (not daily), their fat intake is around 45%. (Please reference 80/10/10 by Dr. Douglas Graham). • Meats, grains, and other starchy foods contain higher fat than is healthful. • Not always visible, deceiving to the eye. • Be aware of what you are eating. • A little goes a long way. How much do we need? • I recommend no more than 10%, however, less is best in this case. • Point is that too many Americans eat a high fat diet. If we can reduce that, we drastically change the health of millions! How to avoid eating High Amounts of Fat: 1) Eat More Fruit (You eat FAT b/c you want to feel satisfied and to feel heavier). Fruits is higher in vitamins and minerals without the fat, and it fuels your body to keep you functioning properly. If your body is a car ...

The Dangers of Trans Fats, (partially) Hydrogenated Oils, Trans Fatty Acids

Trans fats are artificially produced fats that are very unhealthy. The consumption of trans fats is one of the main causes for the current obesity epidemic. Trans fats are used in thousands of food products. naturalnews.com The health risks of trans fats include hart disease, obesity, cancer, clogged arteries, high cholesterol, diabetes, birth defects, allergies in children, etc. articles.mercola.com Food manufactures use (partially) hydrogenated oils because it increases the shelf life of their products. This means less spoilage, less loss and therefore more profit! In addition, products with trans fat tend to taste quite good. Trans fats are used in fast food, chips, baked goods, french fries, etc. Trans fats are produced through the hydrogenation of vegetable oils such as sunflower and soybean oil. During this chemical process hydrogen molecules are added to the oil molecules and the oil becomes solid as is the case with margarine. When consuming natural fats, it takes the body 18 days to metabolize half of them. When consuming trans fats, it takes the body 51 days to metabolize half of them. This means that half of the trans fats you eat will still be in your body 51 days later! No wonder obesity has become such an epidemic. becomehealthynow.com Food products will contain trans fat if they include any of the following ingredients: (partially) hydrogenated oil or fat, shortening, margarine. Butter also contains a small amount of natural trans fat. This is not as ...

Dr. Weil Endorses Gary Taubes' Good Calories, Bad Calories

In an appearance on CNN's "Larry King Live" on Friday, October 19, 2007, the author of the book GOOD CALORIES, BAD CALORIES Gary Taubes was on the program discussing his new book challenging the conventional wisdom regarding fat consumption, a healthy diet, and the unique negative role carbohydrates have played in the obesity epidemic and other health calamities. Featuring guest host from "The View" Joy Behar, the lineup also included Oprah Winfrey's diet guru Dr. Mehmet Oz as well as respected health expert Dr. Andrew Weil. The discussion was rather contentious as you can see for yourself in the following transcript of the entire hour: transcripts.cnn.com But it was Dr. Weil's thoughtful and level-headed response to Taubes' book that stood out the most about this broadcast. In just those few minutes of airtime, Dr. Weil expressed precisely what Gary Taubes hopes that most doctors, nutritionists, and health professionals will take away from GOOD CALORIES, BAD CALORIES. Whether you are a physician, researcher, or patient, then you will want to get your hands on a copy of this book. It is available NOW on Amazon.com: www.amazon.com

When he was a 7 year old kid, he learned piano from his ,much older, brother-in-law Harrison Verrett. His piano playing was influenced by boogie woogie pianists like Albert Ammons, Meade Lux Lewis and his triplet piano style came from Little Willie Littlefield, who,by the way, lives in the Netherlands. His first record was "The Fat man", recorded in 1949 and became a R & B hit in 1950 and a gold record in 1953. His cooperation with the bandleader Dave Bartholomew resulted in an almost endless chain of R & B and Top 100 hit records. He also played the piano on Lloyd Price's millionseller "Lawdy miss clawdy." Fats performed in 4 Rock & Roll movies, "The girl can't help it, "Shake rattle and rock", "Jamboree" and "The Big beat." Carb Diet: Guide - Do Carbs Really Make You Fat?

www.howtogetridofbellyfatguide.com My Simple Tips on Carb Diet rules - Do Carbs Really Make You Fat? Carb Diet Myth 1#: Carbs make you fat Let's finally dump this erroneous notion. Carbohydrates do not make you fat. Nor does fat. Eating more of any kind of food than your body needs will make you fat. Carbohydrates are the primary and preferred source of energy for your working muscles and brain. Choose whole grains like whole-wheat breads and pastas, beans, fruits and vegetables to fill your fuel tank. If you go on low carb diet plan, you will not be feeling very energetic or alert. Carb Diet Myth 2#: All-natural means it's healthy We believe that "all-natural" means healthy, safe and good for you. We think of rolling hills, wild flowers and acres of farm-fresh vegetables. The truth is "all-natural" foods can still be high in bad saturated fat, sugar, sodium and calories and low in fiber, vitamins, minerals, photochemicals and antioxidants. Remember, dirt and arsenic are all natural but you don't want to eat them. Carb Diet Myth 3#: Eating late at night is bad With today's crazy schedules, people often do not get a chance to eat until 7 or 8 pm. It's a myth that the food stays in your stomach all night and then turns immediately to fat. Your body does not turn off when you go to bed. There is no magic time of day that your body starts storing fat and stops digesting food. Gaining weight happens because over time you eat more calories than you expend. The hazards of late ...
