Kevin Edward McHale (born December 19, 1957) is an American former professional basketball player who starred for thirteen seasons in the NBA for the Boston Celtics. He is currently an executive (Vice President of Basketball Operations) with the NBA's Minnesota Timberwolves. McHale was a part of what is considered one of the league's best-ever frontlines with small forward Larry Bird and center Robert Parish. The trio of Hall of Famers became known as the "Big Three" and would lead the Celtics to five NBA Finals appearances and three NBA Championships, in 1981, 1984 and 1986. Possessing a wide variety of offensive moves close to the basket the agile, long-armed McHale played in seven National Basketball Association All-Star Games between 1984 and 1991. He led the NBA in field goal percentage in 1987 and 1988, shooting 60.4 percent each season. Here's the 3rd one i created for TRANSITIONS; a workshop on living and dying, which i gave to the members and friends of a network of cancer support groups, with the help of friends. This one's from Graceful Passages, music by Gary Malkin, words by Ram Dass. Contemplating life after death provides a peaceful attitude for living each day. One man's guided tour of the Great Mystery present the listener with an opportunity to relax into a wondrous possibility. This is for people, including those in bereavement, who would be comforted by a firm conviction in the continuity of Spirit. A spiritual teacher, author and humanitarian, Ram Dass suffered a stroke in recent years. This recording as the first audio made during his recovery. His message comes to us from a depth of authenticity, giving us a glimpse into what we may behold upon our own transition. His assertion that "dying is the most important moment" is a reminder for paying attention to the spiritual significance of this event, and to prepare by practicing awareness throughout our life, summed up in the words he made famous,'Be Here Now'. Please take note that the "blank, black, empty" portions are made by purpose coz i wanted the workshop attendees to use their imagination on these parts, the words serving as guided imagery.
