www.nstuffmusic.com Grand Concert with mahogany back/sides and top, traditional mahogany stain, tortoise shell binding, diamond fretboard inlays, abalone rosette, Expression System (ES) electronics. Tonally, an all-mahogany acoustic will respond with an earthy sound that has long been associated with blues and other roots music. Players can expect a dark, throaty midrange punch when digging in, yet there's also an underlying sweetness in that same register that can complement a single-note line. Visually, we've created a look that evokes a throwback Americana style, starting with a traditional mahogany stain, which gives the guitar a luminous deep-red tint. Tortoise shell binding adds the perfect touch of color harmony, while white purfling and an abalone rosette supply crisp counterpoints. Liszt - Grand Concert Solo (Part 1)
Grosses Konzertsolo S. 176 (1851) Dedicated to Adolf von Henselt, the Grand Concert Solo was a large-scale virtuoso piece that baffled many of Liszt's contemporaries. Henselt himself declared that it was unplayable and the Schumanns similarly denounced it as a "bombastic" and impossibly difficult piece. It never received much attention in the 19th-century and continues to be neglected today. Leslie Howard calls this work the Sonata in B minor "junior" and there is actually not as much empty technical display as found in many of Liszt's operatic fantasies and etudes. It is a stern even profound work of surprising lyricism, sonorous piano-writing, and arresting harmonic turns.

Great volume, tone, sustain. Smooth and fast neck and the shorter scale lends for some fast runs around the neck. Overall, a very versatile and great sounding guitar for its size.

Suede & Neil Tennant live at Roundhouse [1996]
I directed this concert film of the last of three nights at London's Roundhouse, marking the end of a world tour. It took place December 15th, 1996 . From a production point of view, it wasn't a major number - the concert would be used for promo purposes only - and I had only a few cameras, but I really like the film. There's 4 songs here, the first two feature a very special guest. Neil Tennant (Pet Shop Boys) joined Brett to duet 'Saturday Night' and sing a uniquely Suede arrangement of the PSB classic 'Rent'. The band continue as a five piece to perform a personal favourite of mine 'Europe Is Our Playground' and the mega hit 'Beautiful Ones'. Apologies: similarly to the Clapham Grand concert, it's digitised from an old VHS so it's not brilliant quality, but it's still good enough to enjoy!

"Parata sedes" Performed by Les Arts Florissants Directed by William Christie *Jean-Joseph de Mondonville, also known as Jean-Joseph Cassanéa de Mondonville, was a French violinist and composer. He was a younger contemporary of Jean-Philippe Rameau and enjoyed great success in his day. Pierre-Louis Daquin (son of the composer Louis Claude Daquin) claimed: "If I couldn't be Rameau, there's no one I would rather be than Mondonville. Mondonville was born in Narbonne in Southwest France to an aristocratic family which had fallen on hard times. In 1733 he moved to Paris where he gained the patronage of the king's mistress Madame de Pompadour and won several musical posts, including violinist for the Concert Spirituel. His first opus was a volume of violin sonatas, published in 1733. He became a violinist of the royal chapel and chamber and performed in some 100 concerts; some of his grands motets were also performed that year receiving considerable acclaim. He was appointed sous-maître in 1740 and then, in 1744, intendant of the Royal Chapel. He produced operas and grands motets for the Opéra and Concert spirituel respectively, and was associated with the Théatre des Petits-Cabinets, all the while maintaining his career as a violinist throughout the 1740s. Dusko Gojkovic - Samba Tzigane
Duško Gojković (also spelled as Dusko Goykovich, born October 14, 1931, Jajce, Yugoslavia, now Bosnia and Herzegovina), Serbian jazz trumpeter and composer. He studied in Belgrade Music Academy from 1948 to 1953. He played trumpet in a number of jazz Dixieland bands and, though only 18 years of age, joined Big Band of Radio Belgrade. After five years spent there he grew into a seasoned musician and decided to continue his career in West Germany. In 1956 he recorded his first LP as a member of Frankfurt All Stars band. Next four years he spent as a member of Kurt Edelhagens orchestra as a first trumpet. In these years he played with legends such as Chet Baker or Stan Getz. In 1958 he performed at Newport Jazz Festival and drew much attention on both sides of the Ocean. In 1961 he was offered a scholarship for the studies of composing and arranging in Berklee. He took the offer and finished the studies. After the studies he was invited by Canadian band leader Maynard Ferguson to join his band. Gojković performed as a second trumpet until the break of the band in 1964. His work with Ferguson boosted his reputation as an excellent big band musician and an outstanding soloist. Next he returned back to Europe, formed his sextet and in 1964 recorded his first album Swinging Macedonia, with music he originally composed inspired by the music of Balkans.
