Me noodling around on my Acer Aspire One A150 running Mac OS X Leopard 10.5.5 with some custom kexts to get 1024x600 res, stock audio and wired ethernet working. Machine is stock, no hardware mods (yet) but shows that the Atom netbook platform can do quite a bit with the right software - near-zero audio latency thanks to Core Audio. I threw some patterns together in Garage Band and flew them into Logic Pro 8. All the backing tracks are playing back live in Logic Audio. The keyboard is an M-Audio Axiom 61. Ignore the flubbed notes, it's only a demo :)

A project I've been working on for the past few weeks. Everything finally came to fruition a few days ago. It's not perfect yet, I've got some bootloader work to do and my ethernet on OS X doesn't work out of the box. I'm still pretty excited about it though. HARDWARE: Gigabyte G31M-ES2L rev 2.x Motherboard Intel E6600 Dual core CPU EVGA geforce 9400GT 2x2GB DDR2 RAM 2 SATA HDD's, one 250GB, one 500GB any DVD drive -- mine's IDE, but SATA is recommended by most normal ATX case 550W PSU Materials needed: A copy of win 7 A copy of OS X A copy of Ubuntu iBoot + multibeast My method: Install Win 7 first. Mine's on it's own drive, which is much easier than trying to install windows on the same drive as anything else. Secondly, install OS X. there are a million iBoot tutorials, I'm not going to get into it. Basically, change a few settings in your BIOS, partition your mac/linux drive with 2 partitions. go ahead and make them both the same mac type for now, you're going to change the linux partitions later. make sure it's set to a GUID partition instead of master boot record (MBR), and READ THE MANUAL! you will inevitably run into trouble at some point, google is your friend! once you have your install updated to latest version (10.6.7 for this video), you can move on. Install Linux.
