I then demonstrate how to install OS X: First, I install OS X Snow Leopard, then carefully upgrade and patch it to its latest version. Next, I install OS X Lion and upgrade to its latest version. Me noodling around on my Acer Aspire One A150 running Mac OS X Leopard 10.5.5 with some custom kexts to get 1024x600 res, stock audio and wired ethernet working. Machine is stock, no hardware mods (yet) but shows that the Atom netbook platform can do quite a bit with the right software - near-zero audio latency thanks to Core Audio. I threw some patterns together in Garage Band and flew them into Logic Pro 8. All the backing tracks are playing back live in Logic Audio. The keyboard is an M-Audio Axiom 61. Ignore the flubbed notes, it's only a demo :)

Another demonstration of the Atom Netbook platform doubling as a compact, portable music studio. As long as you don't overdo the heavy DSP effects (Reverb, Granular Synthesis, etc) it will do quite nicely. In this demo, Reason 4 is acting as a big rack full of virtual outboard gear, and the modules are being triggered via MIDI by the sequencer in the Ensoniq TS-10 under the Axiom. The AA1 happens to be sitting on a rack full of physical gear so you can see the obvious benefit of a small virtual studio running inside the Netbook. The song is another quick sequence I threw together for this demo. Yes it sounds like prog rock meets MOD file meets keygen. Next time I'll do a Lawrence Welk cover.

In this video guide I show you how to install the retail version of mac os 10.7 Lion from the mac app store onto your Hackintosh Pc. You must already have snow leopard on your hackintosh fully updated to 10.6.8 . If you do not know what a Hackintosh is. It is basically Mac os x 10.7 lion running on A windows pc or any computer not made by apple. Step 1: Purchase mac os 10.7 Lion from the Mac app store for $29.99 and let in download normally Step 2: Open it up and click continue, agree to the licence and Then click install on your current snow leopard disk, Don't worry it will not actually install it will just copy some files over. Reboot Step 3: Prepare the Installer Partition 1. Boot back into your existing Snow Leopard installation. 2. Open /Applications/Utilities/Disk Utility 3. Highlight your Snow Leopard drive in left column. 4. Choose the Partition tab, and Click the + to Add a Partition. 5. Name the secondary partition Installer with a size of 8 GB and click Apply. 6. Click Partition. 7. Close Disk Utility 1. Download xMove www.tonymacx86.com 2. Double-Click xMove, and choose Installer as Destination. I really wished I could have made this video longer but at the time I only had a 15 minute limit. Now I have longer than 15 minutes and will try to make better and more detailed videos. I built this system using the tonymacx86 instructions. It is a combination of iBoot and Multibeast. Essentially iBoot is a boot disc (containing Chameleon Bootloader RC5) that makes it possible to get the Mac OSX Install DVD to run on your machine by loading the necessary kext (aka drivers). Once the Mac OSX is installed on your drive it is still not bootable and that's why you still need to load the iBoot disc in order to see the hard drive with Mac OS on it. Multibeast is a program that contains the Chameleon Bootloader. It installs the bootloader to the hard drive with the Mac Os on it making it bootable on its own so you don't need the iBoot disc anymore. Multibeast has many kext(drivers) files needed to get the rest of your hardware working because the Chameleon Bootloader alone may not have everything you need like lan, sound, graphics enablers. You really have to know your hardware like what chipset your audio is using or lan card. If you pick and choose different kexts and it doesnt work then choose another one but remember that you have to re-pick the other settings as well. Here is the link : tonymacx86.blogspot.com

Download and burn iAtkos S3 v2. 2. Boot from this DVD. 3. Partition your hard drive or delete a partition. IMPORTANT: The format must be "Mac OS Extended (Journaled)" and the partition scheme must be "Master Boot Record". If you already have Windows on one partition on your hard drive, this scheme is the standard, so don't worry) 4. Choose the partition you made in the last step and click on "Customize". 5. Choose Chameleon RC5, the drivers you need (NO VIDEO DRIVER) and the language packs you want. 6. Install. 7. Reboot without ejecting the DVD. 8. Choose your Mac partition as boot device. 9. Customize the OS. 10. Download MultiBeast, the updated Nvidia Drivers by tonymacx86 and the combo update 10.6.5. 11. Install combo update (DON'T REBOOT), then MultiBeast, then the Nvidia driver. 12. Reboot, now you don't need the DVD anymore to boot. 13. Now your GTX 460 is working, if you want to change your resolution, ignore the blue screen you get after changing it and force restart (power button). 14. Enjoy your Hackintosh! Part 15 of my Hackintosh guide. In this part I'll show you how you update your Hackintosh. We'll update OSX by running Software Update. Note. This is a unmodified installation, also called Vanilla install. It means that I've installed OSX from a retail DVD, not a hacked distro. If you didn't install OSX from a retail DVD, updating OSX may cause it to crash. Needed files: Kext Utility 2.4.2: tinyurl.com Gigabyte GA-EX58-UD5 Kexts. (Contains Kexts for Audio and LAN) www.mediafire.com Step by step: - Start Software Update. - Select the Max OSX Update and run it. - Reboot when it is done. - Start Software Update again. Install any updates that are available. - Reboot when it is done. - Start Software Update again. Verify that there are no more updates. - If there are any more updates, install them. - If your audio isn't working after the updates, go to the next step. - Install Kext for Audio. (AppleHDA.kext + HDAEnabler.kext). - Reboot. Now your Hackintosh is good to go. Congrats!

This is OSx86 BASICS tutorial, it's meant for absolute beginners who wish to enter the "Hackintosh" world. For advanced info refer to insanelymac(dot)com and OSx86Wiki. There are other ways to install retail OS X on non Apple hardware. This tutorial should be good enough for average tech geek to install OSX on non Apple PC. Please, refer to OSx86 Wiki and other OSx86 forums for additional info and CHECK IF YOUR HARDWARE IS COMPATIBLE with this distro or OSx86 in general in HCL (Hardware Compatibility List). Main components that must be compatible are Motherboard chipset and CPU. You can download additional drivers, but there is no guarantee they exist, especially if you use non common hardware devices. This distro is primarily aimed at custom built desktop PCs, but it does work with laptops and branded PCs if they are compatible, although you have to be lucky to have the right hardware. One more thing I forgot to mention in this video is that you'll need at least 6GB of free HDD space, 1GB of RAM, SSE2 or SSE3 CPU and graphics card that supports openGL 2.0 (ATI x1300 and later, and nvidia 6300 and later, the ATI x1200 and nvidia x100 and x200 chips are not supported and will work only in "graphics safe mode"). *ATI x1200 is supported now if you download additional drivers from kexts(dot)com *nVidia 6100, 61xx, 7100 and 71xx are supported now via EFI studio app (similar to OSx86Tools, just add generated EFI string to your boot.plist) This tutorial is made for educational <b>...</b>

Just had to solve 1 kernel panic about ATA Driver which was easy to fix, I used the USB Install method onto a partition.. let it install and woopie! Snow leopard installed.. fixed the kernel panic then I was able to boot straight into it!
