In a special report aired by 16 WAPT News, Scott Simmons investigated the conversations taking place afterward and whether it should be pursued as a hate crime or as a murder case prosecuted like any other. The evidence was captured by the surveillance cameras at the Metro Inn, which is on Ellis Avenue, where the June 26 hit-and-run took place. Prosecutors have said that the surveillance video is apparent evidence of the beating and robbery of Anderson. There are two new developments in the State Fair mob attacks. West Allis Police are now looking into the possibility of adding the hate crime enhancer. Also, more 911 audio has been released from the State Fair mob attacks. The audio shows that even law enforcement can be overwhelmed at times. More than 20 minutes of audio was released by West Allis Police Department. Through a news release the West Allis Police Department announced investigators may be recommending hate crime charges for 11 open cases. In those 11 incidents the victims describe their attackers as African American and police say all the victims were Caucasian or Hispanic. "Hi, I'm calling because my kids came from the state fair and they were attacked by a group of black people that opened the car door and started punching them," one woman tells the dispatcher. State police in Sullivan County are investigating to determine if the owner of a winery near Dushore is the victim of a hate crime. When owner John Crasne arrived at Bird Song Winery Tuesday morning he found much more than he expected, lots of damage which he claims happened because he is Jewish. John Crane and his family have owned Bird Song Winery for about 10 years. It's a place where wine brings people together, but now the place is torn apart. "My nephew was helping me this morning. We saw things were a mess and realized we were victims of terrorism," Crane said. One of the first things you see at the winery is a flagpole, which normally holds both an American and Israeli flag. Now, only the red, white and blue is flying high. The tires on Crane's truck were slashed, glass was broken, and the winery's sign was damaged. Some of the worst damage at the winery was at the tasting building. There are a vehicle's tire tracks when it backed into the building, knocking it off its platform and damaging a plaque. "How are you supposed to feel safe? You work hard for nothing," said Crane's nephew Zachary Feldman. Police have charged a 32-year-old woman with a hate crime in connection with an assault in Niagara Falls. According to the Niagara Falls Police Department, Antoinette Ivey and another woman punched and kicked a 26-year-old Pakistani woman several times, and said several racial and ethnic slurs. During the attack she said this one slur was mentioned was the term "bloody Paki". "She was extremely traumatized by the attack. She was physically beaten and spent time in the emergency ward." Police said the incident happened in a Dollar Tree parking lot on 9th Street just before 8:30 pm Thursday. The victim suffered cuts and swelling to her head and body, according to police. Adron Matlock a Texas Native while on a work assignment in Shreveport La. was attacked by 4 white males. Only one of the 4 suspects was arrested. The lone suspect broke a bottle and made it a weapon and stabbed Adron in the neck and severed his jugular vein and carotid artery causing Adron to bleed out all of his blood. The lone suspect was charged with a simple one count of aggravated second-degree battery when it should be pre-meditated attempted murder. Adron's employer has basically washed their hands of Adron since the incident. Three days past before his employer answered our phone calls. SANTA MONICA, Calif. (KABC) -- Several students at Santa Monica High School may face assault and hate crime charges stemming from accusations made by an African-American classmate. A black member of the school wrestling team claims he found a brown practice dummy with a noose around its neck when he reported for practice last month. The student also said he was bear hugged by a couple of teammates, chained to his locker and had racially-charged remarks directed at him. Santa Monica police said they were informed by the teen and his mother of what allegedly happened in the gymnasium last Wednesday. Rick Perry in order to stop the execution of death row prisoner, Mark Stroman, scheduled for Wednesday. Stroman shot Bhuiyan in 2001, partially blinding him in his right eye. On the day she was killed, Police say Latino gang members were looking for any black person to shoot. Jonathan Fajardo showed no emotion when the judge sentenced him to death and over 200 years in prison. "I tried to have some compassion for him, but ... he's like a monster," said Charlene Lovett, Green's mother. Last September, a jury found the 22-year-old guilty of first-degree murder in the December 2006 shooting death of the eighth grader. Fajardo, 18 at the time, opened fire on a group of blacks in the Harbor Gateway area. Police say that he targeted the group because they were black. The killing sparked an outcry of protest from community members and elected officials. "I thought those days were over with," Lovett said. Fajardo was also convicted and sentenced to death for the stabbing death of 25-year-old Christopher Ash, a potential witness, nearly two weeks after Green's murder. Fajardo was eligible for the death penalty on the special circumstance of multiple murder, committing a hate crime based on race and committing the crime for a gang.
