One of the best helicopter flying shows I have ever witnessed, amazing pilot skills and a real element of risk. Back in 1990 free entertainment was very different to today. Parts Required: 1, 24"x 24" plywood to make base circle. 1, 24 " long by 2x2" wide foam insulator strip (cut to 2x2x2" squares 1, ¼ x 21" round Ramin Wood sliding rod. 1, ¾" x 24" threaded galvanized pipe (Needs to be heavy), so the reason. 1, ¾" floor flange with 4, 1 ½"x 3/16" long nuts and bolts to attach it to Ply base. 1, 3/8" x 2 ½" Stove bolt (round head, no slots), 2 large 3/8" washers and 2 3/8" Nuts 2, 3 ½" long x ¾" wide, light weight compression springs 1, ½" Long x 1/8" wood screw 1, 5/16 small holed (1/4") washer for spring contact point on the bottom of the rod. 1, 3"x 8" x 3/16" ply or other strong material for helicopter base mounting plate. 2, ¾" Hose clamps for Ramin wood rod. 1, 1" Hose clamp for galvanized pipe 1, ¼" x 2 ½ " long Flat Headed shoulder bolt for holding mounting plate to Ramin rod 1, 12" long mini bungee cord 8, # 60 rubber bands, 4 each side to mount heli landing gear to plate. 1, 12" long nylon "chalk" string to make safety harness. A couple of Navy helicopter pilots lose control of their choppers when they tried to hover too close to the water. In this video you see one of them dunk into the water and then amazingly enough, the pilot recovers and flies out.

Sikorsky video of the Sep. 15, 2010 test flight during which its X2 Technology coaxial-rotor helicopter demonstrator achieved its 250kt speed goal. Conventional helicopters cruise at around 150kt. The X2 reached 260kt in a shallow dive as is expected to exceed 250kt in level flight once a sail fairing is fitted between the upper and lower rotors to reduce drag further. X2 uses a single T800 engine to power both the rotors and the tail-mounted variable-pitch propeller, which provides forward thrust to enable the high speed. Other technologies include fly-by-wire flight controls and active vibration control. As the video opens you see a full-scale mockup of Sikorsky's proposed X2 Light Tactical Helicopter in the hangar.

*** Please read before Commenting*** Vaguely tried a long time ago before today's vast technology, I have proven the Single Blade Rotor head concept to myself using today's modern machines. Why not before? Well, people said the concept is so ridiculous they would never consider doing it on big helis or models, because it simply couldn't work and would be a waste of time. Well, my past single blade rotor video experiments led me to this next step, a bigger, heavier helicopter. I used my E-Sky 900 for this next experiment and is not a waste of time to me. It is science, physics, and fun. Theory: With one blade, there is not as much blade turbulence, thus it's quite sufficient, uses less power, has longer run times, and is quieter in cruise. My physics friends tell me that as long as the counter weight is on, there would be no extra stress on the bearings. Bearings get changed at regular maintenance intervals on helis, so this is no problem. If my bearings start wobbling, I will tell you and change them. With today's materials and technology, almost anything is possible. CCPM helis are difficult for most folks to learn to be good on in the first place, let alone for novices to be able to experiment like this. So for those "Armchair Pilots" with negative opinions, I suggest you make your own heli, learn to fly it good enough to experiment, then put one blade on it to prove it for yourself before making opinions that it won't work, is unsafe or ridiculous.,etc, etc. Bumble <b>...</b>

Dynamic Stabilizers (simply put) direct the down flow of the air from the main rotor in such a way as to make the heli fly faster in forward or reverse flight, inverted or not. They really smooth out the flying and even make it go quite a bit faster in forward flight. I was skeptical at first, but Xraptor10 has a patent pending on these stabilizers for RC helicopters. ( www.youtube.com ) It could change the entire heli scene, as I see it. Second, I had an in-flight GYRO failure. One side was not returning fast enough, so I completely eliminated the gyro and plugged the Tail rotor servo directly into the receiver to check it to make sure the servo wasnt the problem. In fact, it is a failed gyro. But still wanting to take advantage of the low winds (8-12 MPH) today, I flew it without the gyro. I wonder how I ever did it with out it in the pioneering days, cause the tail is so much more sensitive. I reduced the tail rotor throw, and was able to fly the dynamic stabilizers anyway for a second flight. I am impressed. Thanks Xraptor 10. Im sure this is a winner. I put my approval stamp on it.
