This is a PC board I made so I can charge a 48V seal lead acid battery from any 12VDC source. This design is simple and uses an off-the-shelf audio crossover coil. It charges my battery from a 12V source that gets switched on once the sun goes down. In the morning my batteries are ready to go and it didn't cost me anything. Energy from the sun. However I can use with and 12V source that can provide 2-3 amps of power. There is a special circuit that will stop the SMPS once the battery level low around 11 volts. Next day the sun comes up and charges the 12V battery.

They were all getting along well in this room, lots of tree branches, heat lamps and several UVB lights above them all. These same lizards were also spending time outside in the bright sunny backyard of my house in Los Angeles. The cheese was only fed to them once in a blue moon, not a health concern. Banana is fed to them once in a while, but the iguanas were all raised on mostly calcium rich leafy greens such as collard, mustard and turnip greens, with occasional orange and other fruit. All of these lizards were eating daily and living free to roam in some other rooms also. At the time, I had about 60 lizards, mostly iguanas living at my home. This is my attempt at building my own solar panels. I completed the panel, but using Lexan and Clear Epoxy resin didn't turn out quite like I expected. Granted this was my 2nd attempt. For the most part I would recommend simply buying a decent panel. for the time and money I spent I could've bought a 200Watt panel from a discount retailer. I have been very pleased with my DAYMAK AUSTIN electric motor bike. This is the fourth season of riding around the city streets and local highways. I have had a few electrical/electronic issues which I repaired quickly. However as with all new things there is room for improvement. Wouldn't low speed reverse be nice for backing your bike into the shed or garage. How about going FASTER with MORE torque. After all that then there is the sealed lead acid battery pack. Control of the low battery cut off voltage without starting a fire. Maybe regenerative braking to extend battery capacity. A faster, quicker charger would be nice. How about a solar charger. You'll want to checkout my 12V to 48V DC-DC inverter charging circuit that uses solar energy stored in a 12V battery and charges my 48V battery pack for free at the end of this video. I have made a few of these as well as a RV charger that charges the ebike's 48V to 72V battery while the RV is being driven from town to town. When you talk about electric cars the first thing people are concerned with is the range and how to get the batteries charged when you run out of power. So Leafplan set out to find a new way of charging a Nissan Leaf: by towing it behind another car and braking to charge the car. The Nissan Leaf has brake regeneration which means it charges itself during braking. So in theory you can charge the car by braking while you are being towed. However, the Nissan Leaf manual states you 'shouldn't tow an electric car with four wheels on the ground'. The Nissan dealer was a bit sketchy about why that was so we set out to prove the theory and made this video. As you can see in the video it really does work! However there are some small differences. Because the car is being towed the range computer thinks it's driving ultra economical and calculates the range according to this. So the range the computer calculates isn't the actual range which you will have when you drive the car, it's about 33% less. However, the car does charge itself while braking, and actually does a very good job. It's about as fast as a fast charger charging the car. You have to be careful though not to overdo the braking; charging only happens in the first phase of braking if you overdo the Leaf will start to use the regular brakes resulting in very smelly brake pads ;-) Leafplan is a project in The Netherlands set out to find the practical use of the electric car. AutoGespot - Carspotting: Tesla Roadster Signature 250 (100% Full Electric Sportscar) On the 3rd of July i got the possibility to accompany a Tesla Roadster Signature 250 (a 100% full electric sportscar) which was driven by a friend of mine who borrowed it from a friend of his. This specific Tesla is a Signature 250 model, and is carnumber 140 of 250 limited. It does about 3.9 seconds to 100 KPH (60 MPH) and has a range of about 250-300km. The acceleration is bizarre when you sit in it. The grip this car has is fenominal, when it sprints it uses about 200KW(!!) of power from its 7000 Lithium-Ion (laptop) batteries it has. This is a run-up of my home built turbocharger turbojet engine. Long, but maybe of some interest to other engine builders. It is quite old now and dated somewhat and I now know far more about jet engines than I did then. Please go easy on me guys... It is my first video! I would like to issue a challenge to all fellow Do it Yourself Turbojet engine builders and brushless electric R/C park flyer hobbiests/manufacturers out there. Please comment and discuss the feasibility of mounting a small "outrunner" style permanent magnet brushless electric motor to the compressor side of this and similar engines. I realize that shaft harmonics and bearing limitations will play a very significant role in whether or not such a motor/generator combination would hang together at 140000 RPM or more. Of course, associated power electronics with the ability to switch from starter motor to DC generator would need to be designed as well to efficiently (relatively speaking) produce electricity at these ultra high speeds. Such a device would mimic some of the hybrid turbocharger or "electrically assisted turbochargers" that have been developed by Garrett and others in recent years. These have been designed, developed and built to reduce "turbo lag" and recover wasted energy in the form of electricity with the intention of supplementing the charging system in vehicles. How I fixed a Dell Laptop that refused to charge the battery and recognize that I was using a genuine Dell DC Power adapter. It took some careful adjustments to the DC jack in the back of the laptop. In addition there is a signal cable that easily gets severed over time in the end of the DC power cable. By making these two repairs, the laptop works perfectly, the power cord stays in firmly, and the battery charges without problem.
