Most gamers love a good scare. That's why developers have created creepy, shocking and downright disturbing moments in games. These are the five most memorable scares in gaming. Fear Fear is a game you definitely don't want to play at night. This shooter mixes action with a creepy atmosphere and a little girl called Alma. The moment she first appears gave most gamers the scare of a lifetime. Resident Evil Nobody forgets their first encounter with a zombie in Resident Evil. The creepy mansion in this survival horror game is filled with terror. Who doesn't get scared by dogs crashing through windows and zombies jumping out of closets. Condemned The feeling of being followed can be really frightening. The mannequin room in Condemned plays on this fear with dolls creeping up on you when you're not looking. It made an overall scary game that much more disturbing. Vampire: The Masquerade -- Bloodlines The Ocean Hotel in Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines is one of the scariest levels ever made. The fact that you are a vampire doesn't help you one bit in this haunted hotel. The scares range from subtle to less subtle but are always extremely effective. Dead Space 2 Revisiting the Ishimura in Dead Space 2 proves that the threat of combat is scarier than combat itself. It takes really long time before you encounter monsters in this abandoned space station and that's exactly what makes it terrifying... And of course we had to include the eyeball scene.

Now I admit, this used to be my favorite genre of game, and Resident evil was everything I wanted in a in a survival horror game. But since the good ol days of RE2, its just lost some of it's edge. For example, resident evil 5 was the furtherst thing from Survival Horror So with that said, I want to take some time to put a list together of what makes a good survival horror game. . First thing on my list is limited resources. And honestly, probably the most important aspect. The opening of Resident Evil 2 was intense because there was a city full of zombies and you had one pistol with 15 bullets. That's it. In the first game I remember walking into new rooms praying that there weren't any zombies because I didn't think I had enough bullets to take everyone on. In games like Silent Hill, you were lucky when you even FOUND a gun. The question needs to constantly be on your mind is will I make it through this next room. . Moving on in our list, The game just needs to be generally scary. Take a note from Silent Hill one or two where everything in that game was just fucked up creepy. At least in games like that you have weapons. Not all the time resources are even needed at all! Look at games like Fatal Frame 2 and Amnesia. No <b>...</b>

It tells the story of Amy, an autistic girl with strange abilities. Playing as her caretaker Lana, you're riding on a train with Amy when there's suddenly a massive explosion. You regain consciousness to find a ravaged world where survivors are relegated to the shadows, mumbling about the end of days. The story is like a George A. Romero interpretation of Rain Man. Amy is the key to Lana's survival, and when you're separated, Lana experiences firsthand the horrific effects of the infection that's destroying the world.
