The first thing you'll notice is that this device picks up fingerprints like nothing else out there. While most tablets let you easily wipe them away, this one makes you scrub with a good bit of effort to get the screen clean again. Not a huge thing, but annoying. Hardware & Design The HP Touchpad is a portrait style tablet with a 9.7 inch screen and all black plastic finish which is definitely fingerprint heavy so keep your microfiber cloth handy. The display is good but in direct light will wash out but had good viewing angles. There is some dullness to it but I think that's more on the OS that the display. They take a minimalist approach with buttons with just a volume button on top, volume button on the right side and home button on the front that lights up when there is a new notification. Only port on the device is a micro USB port for charging and syncing but you will need to use the included wall charger to always charge because it will tell you other adapters are not powerful enough to charge it. This is the first webOS tablet, running WebOS 3.0 from HP, its got a 9.7" touchscreen, powered by a dual core 1.2Ghz processor. Also has a 1.3MP front facing camera for video chat (no rear camera). It does come in 16GB & 32GB Wi-Fi options for $499 & $599 respectively. Hardware The TouchPad is all black in glossy finish, which makes it a fingerprint nightmare. The devices does have some weight to it, with one physical button on the face of the device. On the right hand side it has a volume rockr and a slot that slides out to reveal you device serial number(Why?). No rear camera and no expandable memory. The Glossiness of the design does make it hard to grip and you tend to find yourself resting your hold of the TouchPad constantly. Also the design is a little bulky, though the TouchPad looks slim or slender, it feels like it was design for discomfort with no clear holding form built into its design and its overall glossy finish takes away from the the systems feel WebOS WebO 3.0 has a very familiar feel as to the other versions of WebOS. The questions here is does it work well for a tablet? Answer is yes and no. That's where are the frustration begins with the Touchpad. Being able to hold thousands of flashcards within the TouchPad is fantastic, this is a must have for every student with a TouchPad. Anyone can benefit from FlashCards! Big Boss for HP TouchPad may look like a children's game for the TouchPad. However, it's much more than that. Adults will find themselves playing and getting into the game.
