That comment was based on just a few minutes with the phone, and as anyone knows, the real test comes from using the phone for an extended period of time. Did this statement hold up after running it through my usual battery of tests? Is this the best Android phone currently on T-Mobile? There are a heck of a lot of pros to the HTC Sensation 4G, but also a few glaring cons. I can confidently say this is currently the best phone on T-Mobile, but the cons are strong enough to make you possibly think twice. Hands on with the HTC Sensation XL with Beats Audio Not to be confused with the Sensation XE, HTC is bringing us another Beats by Dr. Dre-equipped device called the Sensation XL and we were lucky enough to go hands-on at CTIA. Immediately you'll notice that, as a whole, HTC's behemoth is a very attractive device; the aluminum gives it a quality feel and the glossy white finish (with ear beats headphones to match) and large 4.7-inch Super LCD display really make widgets, photos and webpages pop -- one thing to note, however, is that the screen resolution is 480 x 800, but I have to say that it was still very beautiful with great viewing angles. On the inside, while not as exceptional as the Sensation XE, the Sensation XL comes with a 1.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor along with HSPA 14.4 network support and an 8-megapixel camera on back capable of recording 720p HD video. Strangely, because this is a device aimed at audiophiles, the Sensation XL only comes with 16GB of onboard storage that is not expandable. Still, the Sensation XL is something music fans, especially those who have experienced Beats technology, will really enjoy. The bad news is that the Sensation XL will never be available stateside, but don't count out a tweaked version of the phone showing up on our shores sometime in the future. HTC Sensation XL Unboxing & Hands On! At what size does a phone become too big? That answer will obviously differ from person to person, but the popular consensus among handset makers, at least at the moment, seems to be bigger is better. Just direct your attention to the recent Galaxy S II Skyrocket, 4.5-inch; Droid Razr, 4.3-inch; and HTC Vivid, 4.5-inch. We're not complaining, though, as the 4.7-inch Super LCD on the HTC Sensation XL is a joy to behold -- the iPhone's 3.5-inch screen is puny in comparison. After many years of staring at monitors and smartphone screens, the old eyes have begun to fail, so bigger screened offerings are always welcome, and the Sensation XL's is beautiful. When we first got our hands on the Sensation XL back at CTIA, one of the first things we noticed was how beautifully designed the device is. For someone with small hands, the phone's size may at first seem overwhelming, but because of the Sensation's thickness (9.9mm) it quickly becomes a non-issue. While that may seem thick, the height and width size makes it seem small, though it may not be the most pocketable device. The white color pops as well, and the brushed silver back is nice to the touch. Other Sensation XL specs include Android 2.3 with HTC Sense UI 3.5, 1.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, 8-megapixel camera with 720p HD video recording and 1.3 front-facing camera. Of course the phone's biggest draw is its Beats by Dre capabilities. We don't profess to be experts on the <b>...</b>

The HTC Sensation and Samsung Galaxy S 2 are two of the hottest Android smartphones out there right now, and in this comparison, we look at hardware, specs, price, build quality, availability, user interfaces, web browsing, and then we run Quadrant, SmartBench and LinPack benchmarks to determine which device is fastest. The HTC Sensation has a dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon CPU clocking at 1.2GHz. It has 768MB of RAM and 1GB of storage space, plus 8GB found on the microSD card. The front camera takes photos and video at VGA resolution, while the rear camera takes photos at 8MP and video at full 1080p resolution. The Super LCD display is 4.3" and qHD 960x540 resolution, making for a pixel density of 256. The battery is 1520mAh. On the other hand, the Samsung Galaxy S 2 featured a dual-core Samsung Exynos CPU clocking also at 1.2GHz. It has more RAM, at 1GB, and it comes in either 16GB or 32GB configurations. The front camera takes photos at 2.0MP but doesn't record video, and the back camera takes photos at 8MP and can also do 1080p video capture. The Super AMOLED Plus display is also 4.3" but WVGA 800x480 resolution, making for a pixel density of 217. The battery is 1650mAh. TAIWANESE PHONE MAKER HTC kindly gave us a demonstration of its upcoming Sensation XL smartphone. This is the third of the Sensation family of smartphones from HTC and we only heard about the first one less than a month ago. The Sensation XL is rather large as you can gather from the name with a 4.7in screen accompanied by a Qualcomm 1.5GHz single-core processor. As well as being the biggest Sensation smartphone it's also the thinnest at 9.9mm compared to 11.3mm. It will come with an 8MP camera that has a 28mm wide-angle lens. The handset will be available next month.
