Human League - Don't you want me 1982

Human League - Don't you want me 1982 You were working as a waitress In a cocktail bar When I met you I picked you out I shook you up And turned you around Turned you into someone new Now five years later on you've got the world at your feet Success has been so easy for you But don't forget It's me who put you where you are now And I can put you back down too Don't, don't you want me You know I can't believe it When I hear that you won't see me Don't, don't you want me You know I don't believe you When you say that you don't need me It's much too late to find You think you've changed your mind You'd better change it back Or we will both be sorry Don't you want me, baby Don't you want me, oh Don't you want me, baby Don't you want me, oh I was working as a waitress In a cocktail bar That much is true But even then I knew I'd find A much better place Either with or without you The five years we have had Have been such good times I still love you But now I think it's time I lived my life on my own I guess it's just what I must do Don't, don't you want me You know I can't believe it When I hear that you won't see me Don't, don't you want me You know I don't believe you When you say that you don't need me It's much too late to find You think you've changed your mind You'd better change it back Or we will both be sorry Don't you want me, baby Don't you want me, oh Don't you want me, baby Don't you want me, oh (Instrumental) Don't you want me, baby Don't you want me, oh Don't you

human league - human

Come on, baby, dry your eyes Wipe your tears Never like to see you cry Won't you please forgive me? I wouldn't ever try to hurt you I just needed someone to hold me To fill the void while you were gone To fill this space of emptiness I'm only human Of flesh and blood i'm made Human Born to make mistakes So many nights i longed to hold you So many times i looked and saw your face Nothing could change the way i feel No-one else could ever take your place I'm only human Of flesh and blood i'm made Human Born to make mistakes I am just a man Please forgive me The tears i cry aren't tears of pain They're only to hide my guilt and shame I forgive you now i ask the same of you While we were apart i was human too I'm only human Of flesh and blood i'm made I am just a man human Human born to make mistakes
Together in Electric Dreams - Phil Oakey (Human League)

From the 1984 movie "Electric Dreams" Electric Dreams is a 1984 movie set in San Francisco, California that depicts a love triangle between a man, a woman, and a home computer. It stars Lenny Von Dohlen, Virginia Madsen and Bud Cort (voice) and was directed by Steve Barron. The soundtrack features music from prominent popular musicians of the time, being among the first of the movies of this generation that actively explored the commercial link between a movie and its soundtrack. The sountrack album Electric Dreams was re-issued on CD in 1998. The singer (AND CO-WRITER OF THE SONG) in the video is Phil Oakey of The Human League. This video is on "The Best of The Human League" DVD. There is a cameo by Giorgio Moroder (the man wearing glasses who comes into the radio studio to find out what is going on), he is co-writer/producer Giovanni Giorgio Moroder on April 26, 1940 in Ortisei, Italy) is an Academy Award-winning Italian record producer, songwriter and performer, whose groundbreaking work with synthesizers during the 1970s was a significant influence on new wave, techno and electronic music in general. Particularly well known are Donna Summer's disco hits produced by Moroder, including "I Feel Love". Moroder is also the founder of the former Musicland Studios in Munich, which served as a recording home for artists ranging from Led Zeppelin and Queen to Elton John for much of the 1980s and 1990s. Human League - Don't You Want Me (1981)

Human League began in the late 1970s as the brainchild of two computer operators, Ian Craig Marsh and Martyn Ware, from Sheffield, England. They tried a number of names including the Dead Daughters and the Future until settling upon the Human League after former hospital porter, Philip Oakey, joined the group. Adrian Wright joined shortly thereafter to prepare slide shows for projection during the group's live performances. The first single, Being Boiled, was released in 1978, but the group did not make the charts in the UK until the release of Holiday 80 in the spring of 1980. As a result the Human League's second album Travelogue made the UK Top 20. By 1980 the Human League began to feel strain between the pop music favored by Philip Oakey and Adrian Wright and the more austere electronic sounds favored by Ian Craig Marsh and Martyn Ware. In October 1980 the group split in half. Ware and Marsh left to begin a project called the British Electric Foundation whose first spinoff was the group Heaven 17 and their hit (We Don't Need This) Fascist Groove Thang. Of the remaining Human League pair, only Philip Oakey was a performer. With determination to complete a European tour, Adrian Wright began learning to play synthesizer and two female singers, Susan Ann Sulley and Joanne Catherall, were recruited from among the dancers at Sheffield's Crazy Daisy disco. Bassist Ian Burden was also added as a temporary group member. Early in 1981 the new Human League hooked up with ...

The Human League Darkness

From Their 1981 Album Dare! Lyrics: In darkness Where my dreams are all too clear Darkness, darkness Filled with all the sounds of fear I hear voices (don't turn out the light) Calling faraway I see shadows (don't turn out the light) Moving, changing shape And the clock stops As darkness closes in I hesitate but it's too late I scream and scream again I hear colours black and red I see sounds that fill my head I'll never read those books again In darkness Where my dreams are all too clear Darkness, darkness Filled with all the sounds of fear I hear voices (don't turn out the light) Calling faraway I see shadows (don't turn out the light) Moving, changing shape Don't turn out the light (don't turn out the light) Or I'll go over the edge Don't turn out the light (don't turn out the light) Or I'll go over the edge In darkness Where my dreams are all too clear Darkness, darkness Filled with all the sounds of fear I hear voices (don't turn out the light) Calling faraway I see shadows (don't turn out the light) Moving, changing shape I hear voices (don't turn out the light) Calling faraway I see shadows (don't turn out the light) Moving, changing shape

The Human League - Sky (Plastic Plates remix)

When you think of The Human League, one of the first things that will come into your mind is electro pop and these guys are the godfathers of the scene. With a career spanning over 30 years; featuring four Top 10 albums and eight Top 10 singles in the UK as well as two US Number 1 singles and sold 20 million records worldwide, the group aren't short of success. This is not a surprise for a group who were famously described by David Bowie in 1979 as "the sound of the future", and indeed they were once called The Future. Even today the accolade still keeps pouring in, from the new generation of synth-driven pop artists such as La Roux and Little Boots, to international megastar and pop artist of the moment Lady Gaga. After finishing a successful tour across Europe and a number of festivals dates scheduled for this summer, the Human League will return with a fantastic new a single called 'Sky'. The track is taken from their 9th studio album 'Credo', the group's first record in 10 years. Sky' paints a picture every bit as evocative as your favourite acoustic troubadour and shows what a great songwriter lead vocalist Philip Oakey is. The single is out on 25th July and will feature mixes from Plastic Plates, The Hacker, Fusty Delights, Marsheaux and Martin Brodin. Also on the same day a limited double vinyl LP of The Human League - Credo will be released.
