Concept for a Portal Map I'm making based on the film The Cube 2 - Hypercube
Hypercube rotations for dimension 0 up to 6 (point, line, cube, tesseract, penteract and sexteract). No extra transformations were applied, just rotations. Of course, this is not really 4D, this is a projection of a higher dimension into a 3D vector space that is itself projected into 2D for you to see it in your screen. This is an example of me getting two Hyper Cubes next to each other and clearing one with the other. So far as I've been told, in the older version before the gameplay overhaul, this would simply clear the two Hyper Cubes and waste them. Now it clears the entire screen, which is something I always thought should happen. I still don't know what it did in the previous version before the boosts were implemented. For anyone who wants to know, my high score in the old (slow) version was 195300, 573650 in the new version without boosts, and now currently 630000 in the newest version with boosts. Those are legit scores without tool assists. I apologize for the sound quality and desync with the video, but I am having issues with recording.

A tesseract is a 4-dimensional object that consists of 2 connected cubes, which ultimately makes 8 individual cubes or cells. We cannot build a 4-D hypercube like we can a regular cube because we are trapped in a universe of only 3 dimensions (we can't even point to the 4th dimension). But we can imagine what a tesseract would look like in our 3-D universe. Now, a perfect tesseract would have all sides of equal length and all angles would be perfect right angles. But that isn't what we see in the drawings and models that we have of tesseracts. Think of it like this: When we look at the shadow of a cube in 2 dimensions (the drawing of a cube on paper), the cube is not perfect - it doesn't have all sides of equal length and not all the angles are right angles. The same applies to viewing a 4-D object in 3 dimensions. We don't see all the sides of equal length and not all the angles are right angles. This is because there is a 4th dimension that we simply can't see in our 3-D world. It seems impossible to imagine what a real tesseract looks like and that is the penalty of losing a dimension. At first I didn't understand the 4-D hypercube either, but I decided to make this video and use colors to help you see the individual cubes. Remember, this object can not exist in our universe, that's why it's so hard to imagine. It seems impossible to us, but that's only because we're trapped in 3 dimensions. Might still be a work in progress but done enough to show it off. What is its purpose? Well, I'm not 100% sure, just a crazy idea. But, remember that stupid cube that would sometimes float? Well, I was looking at that, and it was gonna be a visual effect with no purpose at all. Then I had the idea of it being "Dead" with the lights of the cube off. Then when the activator switch is pressed, it would float up and spin like the cube in the test map. Without a model, that was near to imposable. Also the player could push it out of the gravity field and it would not always do the spinning action. So for now its just floats in the air and looks very static and doing this took time. Any opinions would be nice.

The tesseract is the 4-dimensional analog of a 3-dimensional cube. When it is rotated around a 4D axis and projected from 4D to 3D, it creates an interesting animation of a shape-changing 8-cell in 3D while it shape doesn't change in 4D. Since I had built a 3D engine for laser display it was in interesting exercise to extend it to 4D. In mathematics, the fourth dimension is treated like the first three dimensions but the human mind has difficulties trying to come to grips with shapes in four spatial dimensions. Another great feature of the tesseract is that it can be drawn without blanking lines or "without lifting the pencil from paper" as shown in this video. The tesseract is rotating in two planes: one is the 4D YW plane and the other is the 3D XY plane. enjoy!
