Madeline Kahn - DE DUVA (The Dove) - 1968 Funny!

Very short film directed by George Coe (who plays Viktor), and Anthony Lover. It was Madeline Kahn's first film and was written by Sidney Davis. Great parody of some of Ingmar Bergman's best known films, including Wild Strawberries (Smultronstaellet) and The Seventh Seal (Det Sjunde Inseglet). Couldn't find this on youtube, and thought it deserved to be here! www.ModCollectibles.com

Eva Dahlbeck in Ingmar Bergman's "Smiles of a Summer Night"

the great Eva Dahlbeck (March 8, 1920-February 8, 2008), as the actress Desiree Armfeldt, has a visit with her mother (played by Naima Wifstrand) trading ripostes in an almost Wildean manner. Eva Dahlbeck attended the Royal Dramatic Theatre (Dramatens elevskola) in 1941-44, then had many triumphs on stage and screen. She retired from acting years ago to write. Naima Wifstrand grew up very poor, but the shop owner who employed the young girl pushed her to follow her dreams. She eventually had quite a career on the stage in operetta and plays , both in Sweden and London. Bertolt Brecht wrote Mother Courage for her. Original Music by Erik Nordgren Sommarnattens leende (1955). Written by Ingmar Bergman

Ingmar Bergman "Jungfrukällan" (The Virgin Spring)

Winner of the 1961 Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film, "The Virgin Spring" - based on the 13th century Swedish ballad called "Töres dotter i Wänge" - is the first film from Ingmar Bergman's very critically successful output from the 1960's. In this scene the girls - Karin (played by Birgitta Pettersson) and Ingeri (played by Gunnel Lindblom) - are on there journey to bring candles to the church. Karin beautifully sings a very lovely melody. I do not own this video. No copyright intended!
