7/7: Intelligence Failures and Double Agents

A presentation I gave at the March 2012 Crimes of the 1% Conference organised by re-investigate911. I look at the question of intelligence failures in the years before 7/7 and how these had the affect of protecting the relationship between the alleged bombers and several probable double agents. POLICE INTELLIGENCE FAILURES UNITE GANGS & TERRORISTS?

Los Angeles, CA. The failure of local law enforcement agencies to gather, monitor and retain intelligence on subversive groups linked to terrorists has created a dangerous climate. According to gang specialist and retired Sergeant Richard Valdemar, a 33 year veteran of the LA County Sheriff's Department most law enforcement agencies routinely destroy intelligence records on subversive groups fearing lawsuits filed by Civil Libertarians. This is happening at a time when criminal gang members and terrorists have already united in an attempt to bomb a local Synagogue. The Full Disclosure Network® is presenting a FREE eight minute preview from the first two half-hour segments of this special four-part interview. Available FREE, on demand, as a public service. Summary of Part 1 & 2 of the Valdemar interview: Young people have positive vs negative reactions to police tactics Sheriff's OSS gang program successfully dismantled gangs, elected officials destroyed the program. President Obama lashes US intelligence failures

www.timesofearth.com WASHINGTON - The US president has criticised the country's intelligence agencies for failing to disrupt an attempt to blow up a US-bound passenger plane on Christmas Day. In a news conference on Tuesday, Barack Obama said agents had sufficient information to stop the attempted attack but "failed to connect the dots". "This was not a failure to collect intelligence," he said. "It was a failure to integrate and understand the intelligence that we already had." The president used stronger language when addressing his senior intelligence and national security aides on Tuesday, according to a quote by the White House. "This was a screw-up that could have been disastrous," the president said during the meeting in the White House situation room, according to the White House media office. "We dodged a bullet but just barely. It was averted by brave individuals, not because the system worked, and that is not acceptable," he told them. In a televised statement after the meeting, Obama said "it is increasingly clear that intelligence was not fully analysed or fully leveraged". "That's not acceptable and I will not tolerate it." Obama's comments came after Robert Gibbs, the White House spokesman, told reporters that Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab, the Nigerian arrested over the failed bombing, had given intelligence to US officials just hours after his arrest on December 25. "[Abdulmutallab] was taken from the plane in Detroit. FBI interrogators spent quite some time ...

7/7: Crime and Prejudice

A brand new investigative and analytical documentary from the maker of 7/7: Seeds of Deconstruction - which looked at outstanding questions and conspiracy theories. 7/7: Crime and Prejudice explores the 7/7 cold case via new evidence from the recent inquests and discusses the war on terror in the context of numerous miscarriages of justice and acts of violence committed by the state. The first section of the film examines the history of the British state's use of double agents, from the Victorian Anarchists through WW2 to the war in Northern Ireland. It concludes by examining contemporary cases of injustice and violence carried out as part of the war of terror against Muslims. The second section of the film is a multi-dimensional study of the new evidence made available at the recent inquests. It looks at the evidence of a wider conspiracy and the fundamental flaws in the official narrative and the police investigation. It also discusses why the dialogue about 'intelligence failures' itself fails to address the very real possibility of state involvement in the attacks. The final section of the film returns to the Anarchists and the case of Martial Bourdin, Britain's first suicide bomber, in 1894. The mythology surrounding Bourdin is used as a foundation for examining the numerous films, tv shows training exercises and real life events that either predicted 7/7 or were influenced by the attacks. The question of conspiracy theories is addressed through an original analysis ...

'US seeks to stay forever in Afghanistan'

The US seeks to continue the Afghan war into a "perpetual state of low intensity guerilla conflict", preventing the country to rebuild its infrastructure, says a prominent political analyst. Afghan President Hamid Karzai has called for an investigation into what is described as the biggest coordinated Taliban attacks this year. Karzai says intelligence failures on the part of US-led forces allowed the militants to sneak into the most secure neighborhoods. The weekend assault in the capital Kabul and elsewhere left over 50 people--including four civilians and 11 Afghan soldiers --dead. Washington has dismissed Karzai's claim, saying the attacks were likely carried out by the Pakistan-based Haqqani network. This comes weeks ahead of the NATO summit in Chicago, where Karzai is expected to ink a strategic pact with the US. Meanwhile, the US is reportedly gearing up for a major offensive in the war-torn nation. Reports say the US-led spring offensive will be in the regions that control the main access routes into Kabul. Press TV has conducted an interview with Webster Griffin Tarpley, an author and historian in Washington, to further talk over the issue. Watch this article on our website: www.presstv.com

The Secret History of 911. Part 1/2

The extraordinary tale of intrigue and espionage begins with the first attack on the World Trade Center in 1993. The Secret History of 9/11 provides a look at the long, secret war waged against al-Qaeda from the White House, the CIA and the FBI, and examines the key intelligence failures that allowed the 9/11 plot to happen. Interviews include Richard Clarke (Chief of Counterterrorism at the White House) Mike Scheuer (the head of the CIA Bin Laden Unit) and Gary Schroen (the CIA field agent who was trying to capture or kill Osama Bin Laden throughout the 1990s). "Manhunt: The Ten-Year Search for Bin Laden--from 9/11 to Abbottabad" Here are riveting new details of bin Laden's flight after the crushing defeat of the Taliban to Tora Bora, where American forces came startlingly close to capturing him; his grim, Spartan life in hiding; and his struggle to maintain control of al-Qaeda even as American drones systematically picked off his key lieutenants. Half a world away, CIA analysts haunted by the intelligence failures that led to 9/11 and the WMD fiasco pored over the tiniest of clues before homing in on the man they called "the Kuwaiti"--who led them to a peculiar building with twelve-foot-high walls and security cameras less than a mile from a Pakistani military academy. This was the courier who would unwittingly steer them to bin Laden, now a prisoner of his own making but still plotting to devastate the United States. Bergen takes us inside the Situation Room, where President Obama considers the COAs (courses of action) presented by his war council and receives conflicting advice from his top advisors before deciding to risk the raid that would change history--and then inside the Joint Special Operations Command, whose "secret warriors," the SEALs, would execute Operation Neptune Spear. From the moment two Black Hawks take off from Afghanistan until bin Laden utters his last words, Manhunt reads like a thriller. Based on exhaustive research and unprecedented access to White House officials, CIA analysts, Pakistani intelligence ...

Intelligence failures may have contributed to an upsurge in Taliban activity recently and unless the system for sharing intelligence improves, the number of troops dying in Afghanistan is likely to increase dramatically. Why did we get the collapse of the USSR so wrong?

Professor Paul Dibb gives this public lecture entitled 'Why did we get the collapse of the USSR so wrong?' on Monday 7 November 2011 at The Australian National University. It is now 20 years since the sudden and catastrophic collapse of the former Soviet Union. A huge amount of analytical effort in the West, both in academia and in the intelligence community, went into scrutinising every detail of the political, economic, military, technological, demographic and cultural progress of the USSR. And yet, when the end came it was surprisingly quick and ranks as one of the great intellectual and intelligence failures of the 20th century. This lecture examines the reasons why we failed to see the end of the military superpower that was the former USSR. It looks at such issues as preconceived views of Soviet Communism's strengths, the tendency not to see the intellectual wood for the trees, and the enormous pressures to conform with the conventional wisdom about Soviet strengths. It concludes by asking the question: can there be a recurrence of simplistic, straight-line extrapolations about another rising power, such as China? Paul Dibb is Emeritus Professor of Strategic Studies in the Strategic and Defence Studies Centre at the Australian National University. His previous positions include: Head of the Strategic and Defence Studies Centre, Deputy Secretary of the Department of Defence, Director of the Defence Intelligence Organisation, and Head of the National Assessments Staff ...

How To Go To Heaven: www.jesus-is-savior.com www.fff.org The Media As Enablers of Government Lies by James Bovard, Posted November 5, 2009 Why do politicians so easily get away with telling lies? In large part, because the news media are more interested in bonding with politicians than in exposing them.
